Bulak Mencilis Cave in Karabuk Turkey (Bulak Mencilis Mağarası Safranbolu Karabük)
Mencilis Cave is the 5th longest cave in Turkey, located in the Bulak village of Karabük.
The cave is a multi-storey structure consisting of horizontally extending, active and fossil sections. It is found in measurements claiming that the length is 6052 m. At the bottom floor, there are three interconnected kattan, which is the source of Safranbolu's drinking water.
The cave has three entrances. The first entrance to the underground river is closed with a siphon after 30 m. This area is called Water Cave. The main entrance, 300 m north, is the second entrance to the valley slope. It is 75 m above the valley floor. It is passed by 148 step stairs. The third entrance is located on the slope above the main entrance.

We were lucky enough to get picked by locals
going to Safranbolu directly,
We arrived safely to our destination
then my friend Abdulrahman hosted us in his house.
We slept and went to hangout in Safranbolu beautiful places, white houses everywhere.
without forgetting food! Local food we tried!
Today we are going to continue second part of this trip going after to visit Bolu another great city but first let’s show around where did we go in Safranbolu and then continue our journey.
Who would imagine you would find cave in the village. This is CRAZY!
Less than 5km away from where we were staying.
So we finished from the caves and were trying to find a place to camp.
However the place we supposed to go is near but somehow we didn’t find it.
So we found two women who asked for us but then we decided to go somewhere near Cam terrace. Where we were yesterday.

one of the she works with pegasus airline and the other is an artist in New York. You wouldn’t meet those people if we were not hitchhiking
كنا محظوظين كتير ليتم انو اخدونا ناس محللين من مدينة صفرانبولو لنروح ونوصل لهناك مباشرة.

اليوم البعدو درنا حولين قرية الزعفران وشفنا البيوت البيضا وغير هيك جربنا كم اكلة محلية على كيفكم.
اليوم منستمر في الجزء الثاني من هي الرحلة، بلشنا بزيارتنا لتراس الكريستال وهو عبارة تراس مصنوع من الزجاج ودخلنا بعدها نعمل hiking بالكانيون اللي اسمو Tokatli Kanyon وبعدها انطلقنا و من يتخيل أنو نلاقي كهف في القرية. شي مجنون والله
أقل من 5 كم من المكان اللي قاعدين فيه.
بعد ما خلصنا من الكهف هناك كملنا لخطة انو نخيم
لكن المكان اللي من المفترض أن نروحلو ما لقيناه.
لذلك لقينا بنتين طلعونا بسيارتهم وصارو يسألولنا السكان المحللين عن المكان بالنيابة عنا بس بعد هيك قررنا نرجع لل Cam canyon او Tokatli
وقررنا التخييم هنا بس تفاجئنا انو وصلنا عكس الطريق وبالجهة اللي ممنوع حدا يكون هناك بسبب الحيوانات البرية. بس بالاخير مشي الحال
ترى هدول البنتين اللي ساعدونا
واحدة منهم بتشتغل مع شركة طيران بيجاسوس والأخرى هي فنانة في نيويورك. ما كنا نقابلهم لولا انو كنا عم نعمل اوتوستوب Hitchhiking

Bulak köyünün yakınlarında bulunan Mencilis Mağrası .Fransız dağcı mencilis tarafından keşfedilmiştir.Mağaraya ulaşabilmek için yaklaşık 150 Basamak çıkılmalıdır.
Mağranın toplam uzunluğu 6 km dir.Yanlızca 400mt si gezilebilir durumda olup.Birbirine bağlı 3 kattan oluşmuştur.Mağaranın içinde 2 göl ve 15 mt uzunluğunda Şelale vardır.Ayrıca mağaranın 3 farklı girişi vardır.
Yeraltı dünyasının Eşsiz harikası Bulak mağarası büyüleyici manzarası ile Astım ve Bronşit Hastalarına iyi gelmektedir.Mağaranın sıcaklığı yaz-kış 15 derece olup değişmemektedir.

The cities show us that how a nation lived, what they succeesed in the past. Safranbolu was taken to the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 1994 and there are 1131 historical monuments well protected in Safranbolu. At the OWHC Meeting in Rhodes in 2003, Safranbolu was selected as one of the best preserved cities among 20 cities in the World. There are a lot of historical buildings in Turkey and some of them are scattered in another cities except for Safranbolu. The city of Safranbolu and its historical buildings, houses and culture are different. Safranbolu is very sumptuous with its historical houses and streets. You can feel history in Safranbolu. Safranbolu is a treasure and most important example of preservation. It is like a time tunnel with its houses, fountains, castle, clock tower, mosques, inns, baths and bridges which have rich backgraund. While you are walking on the streets, you can see historical houses, lean the old walls and drink water from old fountains. Except for unigue historical buildings, Safranbolu has caves, canyons, plateaus, king graves, villages, grape and saffron gardens and delights. Safranbolu became important tourism centre. The house has 3 floors and on each floor there are 4 bedrooms. All rooms have traditional rounded windows and on each floor there is a balcony. The top floor has a terrace. Our service is based on traditional Turkish hospitality. The owners of Safranbolu Çamlıca Mansion are Celal and his wife Havva Özen. We share our home, the Safranbolu Çamlıca Mansion with our guests. Here is a place where one can enjoy the beauty of the seasons every day of the year. Especially in the spring time it is an absolute pleasure to walk underneath the pine trees, to have breakfast in the garden, to enjoy your afternoon tea or coffee and to take in the abundant peace and quiet.
Here you will find the life, love, peace and warm conversation of the Anatolian people and your opportunity to be a part of it. We may not be able to provide you with the luxury of a Five Star Hotel but you can be sure that we will do our very best to ensure that you are comfortable and content. For example we do not have a gym but we have paths in the forest where you can walk in safety, take photographs and enjoy the scent of oreganos.
We do not have open buffet breakfast but we will provide you with a rich home made breakfast with regional specialty pastries, natural village cheese, stuffed vine leaves, eggs and home made jams made by Havva from fruits picked from our own garden. With this breakfast you can start your day with a boost of positive energy and continue to fill yourself up with the wonderful energy of life with the clean and oxygen rich air of the forest. If you like you can relax in the terrace amid the songs of the nightingales, enjoy the experience of eating the fruits you yourself have just picked from the trees or have a barbeque in the garden.
