GHEORGHE DINICA- The Great Romanian Actor...Dinică showed an early interest in acting, being part of different amateur theater troupes since he was 17. In 1957, he entered The National Institute of Theatre and Cinematography Art in Bucharest. He graduated in 1961, already drawing public attention with the role of Inspector Goole in the graduation play An Inspector Calls. Since then, Gheorghe Dinică performed for some of the most important Romanian theatres:
1961-1967 Comedy Theatre, Bucharest
1968-1969 Bulandra Theatre, Bucharest
since 1972 I.L.Caragiale National Theatre, Bucharest
Dinică was also a Romanian director and popular film actor, thus acting mostly in Romanian films. Like the French actor Alain Delon, Dinică refused to act in movies produced in the United States.
Since 2002, Dinică was an honorary member of the society of I.L.Caragiale National Theatre. He is also an honorary citizen of the city of Bucharest. He was awarded the Faithful Service Order in the Grand Officer class.
Dinica died of cardiac arrest at Floreasca Emergency Hospital, Bucharest.

Being in love with hip-hop ever since he was 11, he started Facem Records group (a hip-hop label) along with some friends in 1997 and CTC (hip-hop group) along with DOC, Vlad Dobrescu and DJ Paul in 1999. Currently he is active in various domains like music, street art and apparel.

Geza is one of the best snowboarders (multiple freeride national champion) and bikers in Romania and is well on his way to qualifying for the 2014 Olympic Games, an attempt that, if successful, will make him the first Romanian snowboarder to ever qualify for this competition. His motivation is to promote snowboarding as a sport in Romania and to be taken seriously. Snowboarding it's no longer a joke it's a real competition.

Andrei Şerban Traveling Academy 2011: Ipoteşti, Romania
Get a glimpse into the 3rd edition of the Andrei Şerban Traveling Academy, which took place in July 2011 in Ipoteşti, Northern Romania. The academy brought together young Romanian actors under 30 in three consecutive intensive workshops held by acclaimed U.S.-Romanian theatre director and teacher Andrei Şerban. This third generation of the Academy has been organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute and RCI New York in collaboration with the Ion Sava Theatre Research Center (The National Theatre Bucharest) and the Ipoteşti Memorial - Mihai Eminescu National Center of Research, which will host the workshops.
The Andrei Serban Traveling Academy was launched in 2007 at the initiative of Corina Şuteu, the director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York. It has become a framework program of the Romanian Cultural Institute, gathering for each edition a diverse range of partners in Romania and the U.S. The Academy has been conceived as a laboratory for young actors in Romania, allowing them to evade from what one already knows and reinvent oneself from scratch, as one of the participating actors referred to his work in the Academy's workshops.

Romanian film director Lucian Pintilie Died at 84
Please hit the bell along with the subscribes botton as you listen. Lucian Pintilie was born on 9 November 1933 and died on 16 May 2018. He was a Romanian film director and screenwriter. Pintilie was a Romanian-born director whose career in theater, opera, film and television has gained him international recognition. From 1960 to 1972 he was resident director at the Bulandra Theatre in Bucharest, Romania. His productions there included George Bernard Shaw's Cesar and Cleopatra, Lorraine Hansberry's A Place in the Sun, William Saroyan's My Heart's in the Highlands, Max Frisch's Biedermann and the Firebugs, Nikolai Gogol's Inspector General and Anton Chekhov's Cherry Orchard. He also directed the Romanian classic comedy Carnival Scenes by Ion Luca Caragiale which won the 1967 Prize for the best direction and best production at the National festival of theater in Romania. From 1973 to 1982 he directed mainly in France at the Théâtre national de Chaillot and the Théâtre de la Ville where he staged, among other plays, Carlo Gozzi's Turandot, Henrik Ibsen's Wild Duck, and Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters and Seagull. In France, he directed also several operas including a production of Oresteia by Aurel Stroe, based on the Greek tragedy, at the Festival in Avignon and Mozart's Magic Flute at the Festival in Aix-en-Provence. He also directed Bizet's Carmen for the Welsh National Opera of Cardiff, Wales. His films brought him international reputation. Sunday at Six o Clock won the Prize of the Jury at the International film festival in Mar del Plata, Argentina in 1966, and the Grand Prize of the Jury at the International Encounter of Films for Youth at Cannes, France in 1967. In 1968, he produced The Reconstruction considered by film historians to be the most important representation of Romanian cinema. In 1975 he filmed for Yugoslavian television Ward Number 6, his own adaptation of Chekhov's famous story. It won the Catholic Film Office Prize at the Cannes film festival. In the United States, in addition to his work at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Pintilie staged Tartuffe and The Wild Duck at Arena Stage. Get a glimpse into the 3rd edition of the Andrei Şerban Traveling Academy, which took place in July 2011 in Ipoteşti, Northern Romania.
