Antequera Spain
The Estepa Gate, Bullring and Paseo Real
Antequera is the capital of a large county in the north of Malaga province, Andalucia, Spain. Widely accepted as the centre of Andalucia due to Antequera bordering Seville, Cordoba and Granada. Antequera was once tipped to be the capital of Andalucia but alas, it was not to be.
Antequera has a lot to offer the tourist such as, the Plaza de Toros or Bullring, the Estepa Gate, the castle and tower of Homenaje, churches, cathedrals and plenty of other historical monuments and places of worship. There is plenty to see and do in Antequera.
The main avenue in Antequera is Calle Infante Don Fernando which runs from the North-West to the South-East of the town and is joined by Calle Alemeda de Andalucia by Estepa Gate at the North-West and finishes at Plaza San Sebastian at the South-East. Along this avenue there are bars, banks, shops, offices, restaurants, the town hall and the daily hustle and bustle of Antequera life.
At the end of the Calle Alameda is the Estepa Gate which has undergone renovation and opposite are the gardens of the Paseo Real, opposite the Antequera Bullring. The bullring is a basic brick and masonry affair with an external diameter of 80m and an internal diameter of 56m, this also contains the bullfighting museum. The Bullring has also undergone renovation and re-enforcement and has been the property of the local authority since 1980.
With a booming economy and potential for tourism Antequera is a great place to buy property, in fact, the prices have risen by 14% over the last 12 month or so and so property for sale in Antequera is a must for someone looking to invest in Spanish real estate or anyone thinking of moving to Antequera. The best real estate agents for Antequera are

Mijas Bullring Costa Del Sol Malaga Spain
Mijas Bullring was opened in 1900. Mijas is a small mountain village in the heart of Malaga on Costa del Sol in Spain. Mijas borders to Fuengirola. The Mijas Bullring is oval in shape unlike most bull rings which are round. Take a tour around the Mijas Bullring. There is also a small museum. In the bullring museum you can see the bullfighter’s clothing, learn about the bullfight history and take a closer look at the branding irons. The bullring in Mijas is open for tourists and worth a visit to learn about this controversial part of Spanish culture.
Spain's traditional bullfighting sparks controversy
Spain's traditional custom of bullfighting has once again caused anger as supporters of the cultural event clashed with animal rights groups in Spain. There have already been a series of clashes between animal rights groups and bull aficionados, and this feud looks set to continue, as both sides battle for the future of bullfighting. CCTV’s Dan Williams has the story.

Ronda village, Andalucia, Spain 2012
Despite being Andalucía's fastest-growing town - it overtook Córdoba in the big three Andaluz tourist attractions, behind Sevilla and Granada, in the early 21st century - Ronda retains much of its historic charm, particularly its old town. It is famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and views, and for the deep El Tajo gorge that carries the rio Guadalevín through its centre. Visitors make a beeline for the 18th century Puente Nuevo 'new' bridge, which straddles the 100m chasm below, for its unparalleled views out over the Serranía de Ronda mountains.
Ronda is also famous as the birthplace of modern bullfighting, today glimpsed once a year at the spectacular Feria Goyesca. Held at the beginning of September, here fighters and some of the audience dress in the manner of Goya's sketches of life in the region. Legendary Rondeño bullfighter Pedro Romero broke away from the prevailing Jerez 'school' of horseback bullfighting in the 18th century to found a style of bullfighting in which matadores stood their ground against the bull on foot. In 2006 royalty and movie stars were helicoptered in for the Goyesca's 50th anniversary celebrations in its small bullring, while thousands jammed the streets and parks outside. Otherwise the bullring, Plaza de Toros, is now a museum, and visitors can stroll out into the arena.
Ronda also holds a lovely 'romería' pilgrimage each year. This is in honour of the Virgen de la Cabeza and is organised by the local Catholic brotherhood of the same name. For those wishing to see the lighter side of life in Ronda this is a wonderful way to participate in a local tradition that dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.
Across the bridge, where an elegant cloistered 16th century convent is now an art museum, old Ronda, La Ciudad, sidewinds off into cobbled streets hemmed by handsome town mansions, some still occupied by Ronda's titled families. The Casa de Don Bosco is one such, its interior patio long ago roofed in glass against Ronda's harsh winters. Its small, almost folly-like gardens lose out, however, to the true star, a few minutes' walk to the furthest end of the Ciudad, the Palacio Mondragón. Clumsily modernised in parts during the 1960s, this still has working vestiges of the exquisite miniature water gardens dating from its time as a Moorish palace during Ronda's brief reign as a minor Caliphate under Córdoba in the 12th century.
The cobbled alley to the Mondragón leads naturally on to Ronda's loveliest public space, the leafy Plaza Duquesa de Parcent, which boasts a convent, two churches, including the toytown belltower of the iglesia Santa Maria de Mayor, and the handsome arched ayuntamiento (council) building. Nearby calle Armiñan leads down to the spacious plaza of the traditional workers' barrio, San Francisco, with excellent bars and restaurants. Back from the Mondragón, the Plaza del Campillo overlooks steps that zigzag down to a dramatic eye-level through the Puente Nuevo. The town's pedestrianised 'high street', calle Espinel, opposite the bullring, is nicknamed 'La Bola' and is where Rondeños go for virtually everything.
Ronda, Andalucia, Spain, España
Ronda is Málaga province's most spectacular town, perched on an inland plateau river by the 100m fissure of El Tajo gorge. Surrounded by mountains, Ronda is one of the prettiest of
Andalucía's whitewashed villages. It is also one of Spain's oldest towns which largely dates back to Islamic times. It has managed to retain much of its historic charms with magical character even though its one of Andalucía's fastest growing towns
Ronda was a favourite with the Romantics of the late 19thCentury, and has attracted international writers and artists, such as Ernest Hemingway, Orson Welles, David Wilkie, Alexandre Dumas and Rainer Maria Rilke.
The Puente Nuevo a handsome 18thcentury bridge which separates the old and new towns and crosses the gorge at its deepest and narrowest point. On the south side of the bridge is the charming old Moorish town. It is difficult to resist the opportunity to peer over the railings down to the river flowing 321ft below. A small prison used to exist in the middle of the bridge.
Famous for bullfighting and has one of Spain's oldest bullrings. The Plaza de Toros is now a museum and visitors can stroll into the arena.
Situated about an hour from the Costa del Sol and attracts numerous day trippers.

Places to see in ( Almagro - Spain )
Almagro is a town and municipality situated in Ciudad Real province, in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain. A tourist destination, Almagro is designated a Conjunto histórico, a type of conservation area.
Almagro lies within small Paleozoic mountain ranges, with some reserves of shallow creeks, including the Pellejero and de Cuetos. Almagro also lies within a volcanic zone (Cerrro de la Yezosa), which lies upon a quartzite massif. It makes the zone particularly unique, together with that of the zones of Olot and Cabo de Gata, in the sense that it is one of the few important zones of volcanic origin in the Iberian Peninsula. An International Festival of Classical Theater has also been celebrated here annually since 1978.
During the 1950s, the Corral de Comedias was discovered and restored. The Town Hall and Plaza Mayor were also restored. In 1972, Almagro was declared a Historical-Artistic Zone (Conjunto Histórico-Artístico). Numerous buildings were restored, including churches, palaces, houses, and hermitages. The Museo del Teatro (Theater Museum) was established in a spot near orchards and wine cellars; a special building was later built for it. Almagro became a center for the dramatic arts in the region, and the International Festival of Classical Theater (Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico) was put on here. Almagro is a candidate for becoming World Heritage Site.
During the Peninsular War, an active Bonapartist masonic lodge was established in Almagro. The town suffered during the Carlist Wars and the sale of church lands by Juan Álvarez Mendizábal and Pascual Madoz. During the 19th century, the town faced competition from Ciudad Real and Bolaños de Calatrava. Almagro built a Plaza de Toros (1845) from materials originally from the stone tower of the ancient parish church of San Bartolomé, which had been demolished in 1845. The bullfighter Cagancho would later compete in this stadium.
Almagro is also famous for a variety of small aubergines, berenjenas de Almagro, seasoned and pickled according to a traditional recipe. These are usually eaten as a snack, along with other tapas, such as banderillas. An International Festival of Classical Theater has also been celebrated here annually since 1978.
