Budapest is a song by English singer-songwriter George Ezra, from his debut studio album, Wanted on Voyage (2014). It was released as the album's second single on 13 December 2013 in Italy, and on 13 June 2014 in the United Kingdom. The song was co-written by Ezra with Joel Pott and produced by Cam Blackwood.

The single was released on Columbia Records, and distributed by Sony Music, and peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart. Budapest has also been a major hit for Ezra in Austria and New Zealand, topping the charts in both countries, while reaching the top ten in Australia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland. It was the 13th-best-selling single of 2014 in the UK.[1] The song was released in the U.S. in 2015 and has peaked at number 32.[2Budapest /ˈbuːdəpɛst/ is the capital and the most populous city of Hungary, and the tenth-largest city in the European Union by population within city limits.[11][12][13] The city had an estimated population of 1,752,704 in 2016 distributed over a land area of about 525 square kilometres (203 square miles).[14] Budapest is both a city and county, and forms the centre of the Budapest metropolitan area, which has an area of 7,626 square kilometres (2,944 square miles) and a population of 3,303,786, comprising 33 percent of the population of Hungary.[15][16] The Budapest metropolitan area had a GDP of $141.0 billion (€129.4 billion) in 2016, accounting for 49.6 percent of the GDP of Hungary.[17][9] GDP per capita in the city is $64,283, which means 148% of the EU average measured on purchasing power parity.[10] Thereby the city is among the top 100 GDP performing cities in the world.[18]

Let's kick homophobia into touch: LGBT Rugby Match 2014

In support of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, CUSU hosted a rugby match between Coventry University and the Birmingham Bulls -- an openly gay rugby team -- to get rid of the negative stereotypes of the sport and help kick homophobia into touch.

Enrichment in Birmingham

This is the curious moment a gang hack at a man with huge machetes and brutally attack him after knocking him to the floor. A horrified resident captured the footage from the window of a nearby home on Trinity Road, Perry Barr, Birmingham.

Two thugs brandishing 3.5 foot long machetes can be seen using them to repeatedly strike the victim on his head and body as he cowers on the ground. Other members of the gang throw vicious kicks, stamp on the victim's head and use hammers to beat him.

Two members of the public bravely step in to confront the thugs, who sprint away down the road. One of the men who intervenes in says: 'What the f***k are you doing?' Terrified neighbours called 999 and police officers chased the gang on foot to a nearby road.

Police tracked down and arrested two men on Aston Lane carrying a 3.5 foot machete, a hammer and a rubber mallet. It comes as recent figures show that knife crime in Birmingham is at its highest in eight years - up 19 per cent since 2017.

And the West Midlands has seen the biggest increase in knife crime of any part of the country outside London, with almost 3,000 incidents reported last year. Meanwhile, knife possession offences have also rocketed by 159 per cent, according to figures from police.

West Midlands Police today said: 'Two men aged 20 and 28 were arrested on Aston Lane, Perry Bar at 3.40pm on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon'. 'Fantastic teamwork by A Unit Newtown and the public (who called us initially), responding to a call of males brandishing a machete and hammers. Arrived quickly on scene and detained the males after a chase. 2 in custody!'

The number of murders in the UK has soared by 14% as the number of knife crimes and robberies also rises. This week stabbing deaths in the UK hit 250 this year, with five of those murders coming in the past seven days in London alone.

London is at the centre of fears of rising levels of violence, after the number of killings in the capital topped 100 this summer. This has increased the number of murder investigations in London to 120 this year.

Canadian Hells Angels killed by Outlaws in England

Gerry Tobin led Bible studies in his Calgary home, prayer meetings at work and dreamed of becoming a missionary before moving to England with his wife. Nine years later, he was a tattooed member of the Hells Angels, the world's most notorious biker gang, and the victim of a daring murder when he was shot off his motorcycle on a busy UK motorway. I revealed the unusual past of the beloved Hells Angels for the National Post in an exclusive investigation in 2007.
Security camera footage caught Tobin and two prospecting members of the Hells Angels filling up their Harley-Davidson motorcycles at a gas station on Aug. 12, 2007, after leaving the Bulldog Bash, an annual biker festival hosted by the Hells Angels near Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare. It was taken just minutes before he was shot off his bike on the M40 motorway, struck by a bullet that hit him just under his helmet.
The video shows a relaxed and unhurried man, wearing his Hells Angels colours on his back as he refuels his beloved Harley-Davidson. At one point he looks up at the camera as he walks past it and flashes the broad smile that friends say was his trademark, even as a child. The video does not seem to show a man in fear.
The [closed-circuit television] images show him looking relaxed, said Warwickshire Police Detective Superintendent Ken Lawrence, who lead the investigation into the shooting. “He certainly does not look like a man who feels under any imminent threat of danger… From what we know so far the attackers were clearly focusing on him, he said.
At one point Tobin looks up at the camera as he walks past it and flashes the broad smile that friends say was his trademark even as a child.
Tobin, 35, left Canada in 1999 and joined the Hells Angels’ London chapter where he was a popular member.
Investigation soon focused on the Warwickshire chapter of The Outlaws. As shown in court, the Outlaws decided to kill a Hells Angel that day, any Hells Angel. That explains why the killers drove their car past the two probationary members, who had not yet earned the right to wear the Angels’ death’s head patch, and aimed at Tobin, who had.
Seven members of the Outlaws motorcycle gang were sentenced to life in prison at Birmingham court in November 2008. It was the entire membership of the Outlaw’s Warwickshire chapter. Sean Creighton, 44, of Coventry, pleaded guilty to murder and firearms charges before the trial started. Simon Turner, 41, of Nuneaton, Dane Garside, 42, Dean Taylor, 47, Malcolm Bull, 53, Karl Garside, 45, and Ian Cameron, 46, all of Coventry, were all found guilty by a jury at trial.
Police believe the shooting had its roots in the long-standing feud between the Hells Angels and the Outlaws and was likely approved by the Outlaws senior leadership.
