Together, these artists cover a broad cross section of contemporary practice in the state, and it is sure to be a fascinating overview of the work they are currently producing.

Elisa Markes-Young uses mostly fibres, textiles, techniques and skills that are - at least in cultures of European origin - traditionally attributed to the female field of experience. The aim is to recreate not so much figurative works but rather the mood.

Penny Coss' art practice is in concert with walking in the landscape, intuitively bringing these experiences to the studio and developing a rich archive of ideas through material outcomes. A type of psychogeography, walking in the landscape traverses that which is both familiar and unfamiliar.

Christophe Canato’s body of work is a longstanding examination of the male gender role, identity and sexual orientation in cultural, politics and religion contexts. In his photography, the staged male body expresses ambiguities between form and representation.

Indigenous Noongar artist Sandra Hill discussing her work at the Through Her Eyes Panel Discussion held at BRAG on Saturday 24 November 2018.
The event presented an in-depth conversation on the representation of women in the arts, coinciding with the exhibition Through Her Eyes - a show of women artists from the City of Bunbury and the Edith Cowan University art collections.
Along with Sandra Hill, the panel also included Perth artist Jo Darbyshire, Indigenous Noongar artist Sandra Hill, emerging South West artist Sarah Mills and printmaker and former lecturer at Edith Cowan University Yvonne Dorricott. The convener will be Sue Starcken, curator and lecturer Edith Cowan University.

South west local Ash takes a road trip from Bunbury to Kojonup, Albany, Augusta and Busselton to uncover the region's history and cultural connections. He starts with a morning coffee at Cafe 140 in Bunbury, skating past the town's newest artistic additions - the Re.Discover Bunbury street art.
Ash meets his friend Johnny at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery and heads south towards Kojonup, where local Aboriginal elder Jack teaches them how to swing billy tea at Kodja Place. Further south, Ash remembers his own connection to Albany at the Brig Amity replica, and learns of the Anzac Albany legend at the National Anzac Centre.
En route to Augusta, the boys stop at the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree, one of the original fire lookout trees from the historic timber town days.
The boys climb Australia's largest mainland lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin before heading to the Busselton Jetty, which celebrates its 150th birthday this year.

An evening with Hossein Valamanesh - Presented by: Bundaberg Regional Galleries
An intimate evening with renowned contemporary installation artist Hossein Valamanesh as he discusses the development of his art practice over the past 35 years. Valamanesh’s work is often made with natural materials and found objects. Valamanesh has exhibited frequently in Australia and overseas including Germany, Poland, Finland and Japan. He has completed a number of major public art commissions in Adelaide, Tokyo and Sydney.
Visiting Bundaberg as the 4th installation artist with the Literary Notions series The Vault exhibition space at the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery, QLD Australia.
The series will see some of Australia's best contemporary installation artists occupy the space using literature as their inspiration.
Hossein Valamanesh created the following installation in response to Andrew Bovell’s play 'When the Rain Stops Falling'.
