A praia que se estende ao longo de uma pequena enseada abrigada funciona também como porto piscatório onde ainda se praticam formas artesanais de pesca. Praia do Burgau e Aldeia do Burgau

A Aldeia do Burgau encontra-se debruçada sobre a Praia do Burgau. Este local situa-se no concelho de Vila do Bispo, na freguesia de Budens.
Esta praia sinaliza o limite poente do Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. O areal estende-se ao longo de uma pequena enseada rodeada por arribas calcárias, margas e arenitos.
No topo da arriba subsiste o Forte de Burgau. Foi construído no séc. XVII, no reinado de D. João IV, num local onde teria existido uma torre de vigia. Encontra-se atualmente em ruínas.
Na Aldeia do Burgau encontra-se a Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro, que data de 1986 e apresenta uma arquitetura religiosa moderna.

The Sea at Burgau.
Burgau is a small fishing village in the west Algarve that I have known since 1982. My friend Anna who lives here at the moment...very kindly let me film her walking on the beach just as the sun was setting...It was the month of the Blue Moon...hence the reference. in the Poem....which another friend the sculptor SOREN narrates with me.
