Burgundy: Profoundly French
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Burgundy is a calm and cultivated corner of France, where fine living is intimately tied to nature and traditions run strong. We'll slow down to enjoy the region's edible, drinkable, scenic, and floatable delights. We'll travel on a canal barge, visit a medieval hospice and a modern monastery, build a barrel, appreciate fine Burgundy wine, slurp escargot, and eat very, very well. If you're looking for quintessential French culture, you'll find it in Burgundy.

Driving through several french towns in Burgundy
This is a 4X rewind of french towns in Burgundy
Please hit Like and Subscribe to support this weird stuff!
Road conditions:
Burgundy is a very beautiful sightseeing by car. Lots of small old towns. You can accidentally drive to some french castle just by luck. Very unpopulated, so you can relax behind the wheel and enjoy the road. If you have a chance to rent a car in France or more precise Burgundy or Lorraine you should definitely do it.
Time codes:
11:36 - pretty big burgundian town
16:10 - the city of Alesia
What is this? This channel is mostly fast rewinds of my experiences of the roads of various countires around the world. The purpose is either driving educational or for relaxation. Some people are curious to see what the driving conditions are in different countries, some find it relaxing just watching the road alike ASMR effect. Look it up, if you are unaware what it is. Basically, it is a travel dashcam content.
The car as of 2017 is Honda Civic 1998 with the russian plates.
The dashcam video recorder is Prestigio Roadrunner 525 (which explains the quality, it is a very budget one). Later to be changed with the new better one.

Santenay Pinot Noir, is wonderful with dinner, as a unique gift or in a wine gift basket
Today we are going to talk about Santenay (Bruno Colin Santenay 2006). Now, Santenay is a Burgundy wine. This is from a French area called Burgundy which is the home to the Burgundian kings, but that was along time ago because they are all dead now. But fortunately, the wine is not. Burgundy this is to the east of Paris. As all red wines of Burgundy this is 100% Pinot Noir grape It has fantastic delicate aromas of cherries, some berries, and a very nuanced wine. It is not without power. But the power is sort of hidden if you are used to tasting a cab that hits you big in the mouth or, for heaven's sakes, an Australian Shiraz which is really punchy. A Pinot Noir from burgundy is simply more refined. When you sit down with a plate of food it is absolutely elegant.
Bruno Colin Santenay 2006

Faithful Dijon
Dijon not only is famous for its mustard but because it has many beautiful churches and history. It was saved twice from total destruction from two wars. The church of Notre Dame has the Black Virgin or the Virgin of Good Hope. Also has beautiful gardens, architecture and the most amazing roofs made of glazed tiles.
Also they host the famous International and Gastronomic Fair every year in autumn.

Places to see in ( Dijon - France )
Places to see in ( Dijon - France )
Dijon is the capital city of the historical Burgundy region in eastern France, one of the country’s principal wine-producing areas. It’s known for its vineyard tours, autumn gastronomic fair and building styles ranging from Gothic to art deco. The distinguished 1787 Musée des Beaux-Arts, housed in the vast Palace of the Dukes, holds a rich collection of paintings, sculptures, crafts and antiquities.
Dijon is one of France's most appealing cities. Filled with elegant medieval and Renaissance buildings, the lively centre is wonderful for strolling, especially if you like to leaven your cultural enrichment with excellent food, fine wine and shopping. Dijon is perhaps best known for its mustard (named after the town), which is no longer produced locally, but it is still one of the most beautiful cities in France, and its historic buildings and byways were not heavily damaged by bombing in World War Two and are largely intact. The surroundings is also an important wine production region, and Dijon has historically been the centre for regulatory bodies for wine production (some wine classification systems were invented here) and therefore the historical centre of Dijon forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage site Climats, terroirs of Burgundy. Dijon was for some time the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy. Burgundy was a great power during the 14th and 15th centuries, when the dukes controlled a large part of what is now northeastern France, western Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
The dukes were great patrons of the arts, so Dijon was a major centre of Gothic and early Renaissance music, painting, and sculpture, attracting some of the greatest and most famous artists and musicians from Flanders in particular. The music the great composers left behind can be performed anywhere, but it is particularly in the fields of sculpture and architecture that masters left a lasting mark on Dijon. Today, Dijon is a cosmopolitan city, with universities in the centre and industrial plants on the outskirts. Traffic is restricted in the centre of the city, so many parts of central Dijon are quiet and relaxing.
There is a self-guided walk in the city, called Parcours de la chouette, shown by owl arrows and numbered owl plates in the ground. There is 22 stops showing interesting stuff. Alot to see in Dijon such as :
La Chouette (The Owl).
Place François Rude (Place du Bareuzai).
Ducal Palace (Palais Ducal)
The Philippe Le Bon tower in the Ducal Palace
Palais de Justice (rue du Palais)
Auditorium (modern).
Les Halles is an indoor market

FLEURIE A.C. TERRE DES LYS, FRANCE, 2008
Fleurie is one of the best loved and well known Cru-Beaujolais. The grape from which Fleurie is made is the soft and fruity Gamay. This cuvee Terre des Lys gives a very good illustration of the Fleurie style: the nose is aromatic with red fruit, cherry aromas, silky in the mouth with ripe raspberry flavours. Light and delicate, it will compliment any white meat dishes such as roast chicken, salad or even grilled fish like salmon or tuna steak. Can be served at room temperature or even slightly chilled. PRICE: £8.99
