Rock climbing in the Burn o Vat, Scotland
We took a trip out to Burn O' Vat in Scotland for a spot of Rock climbing. We only got the three routes in but it still was a great day out climbing.
The first two routes I did on lead and the final climb of the day we decided to top rope. The climbs we picked were relatively easy but they all had sections that where problematic to get past.
The rock here is amazing and it is all situated in a beautiful little valley with rich history.
This is first bit of outdoor climbing of the year and there will be plenty more to come.
As always thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed this episode. See ya next time!

Things To Do in Ballater Deeside
We started our week off looking for things to do in and around Ballater, it had just snowed so made sense to get out the sledges and look for somewhere awesome. We arrived at Glen Muick to a foot of snow.
The following days we walk up Craigendarroch which overlooks Ballater, it took about 2 hours to walk the circuit. The following days we went skiing at the Lecht and also Glenshee. It is one of my favorite drives from Ballater to Braemar.
Our final day we visited Muir of Dinnet which is managed by the Scottish Natural Heritage. Muir of Dinnet blends woodland, heath, open water and an impressive example of nature's sculptural work, all on one site. Visit the Burn O'Vat and feel the rock walls swallow you up in their damp embrace, cutting you off from the outside world.

Howard Butterworth painting Muir of Dinnet, Royal Deeside
Howard Butterworth is captured painting the view over Loch Kinord & the Muir of Dinnet Nature reserve, in Royal Deeside, Scotland. The house that you can see is Mickle Kinord which Howard refers to as once being a historical Edwardian Museum. The painting Howard is finishing is one that he started 3 years ago and as he paints outside it has taken a wee while to get similar weather conditions as when he started. This painting will be on show at The Butterworth Gallery in Ballogie.
Scotland 2012
A look back at an adventurous holiday in the Scottish Highlands during late May/ early June 2012, which started with an ascent of Stac Pollaidh. From the top of Stac Pollaidh you have one of the most astonishing panoramas in front of you in all of Scotland as the Assynt mountains come into view across a wilderness that stretches to eternity. Suilven, Canisp, Cul Mor and Cul Beag stand like ancient giants beckoning to be explored.
And it was to Suilven that we made our way the next day, with a summit camp to enjoy the remoteness of this iconic mountain.
The final part of the adventure was an epic, long hike in the Cairngorm mountains, across the vast and exposed arctic-like plateau to Ben Macdui, the second highest mountain in Britain, with breath-taking views across the Lairig Ghru valley, before working our way round to Loch Avon and an arduous climb up the Saddle to get us back to the top of Cairn Gorm, just in time for another remarkable sunset.

Don Canestro: UC natural reserves and marine protected areas: intersection and mutualism
This is part of a series of video presentations from the State of the California Central Coast symposium, held February 27 - March 1, 2013 in Monterey, CA. The symposium focused on the monitoring and management of California's Central Coast regional network of marine protected areas (MPAs). The presentations and panel discussions shared ecological and socioeconomic results from the first five years of MPA monitoring in the region and new approaches for MPA implementation. The results are accessible in an 'e-book' format that includes inteactive graphs, videos and more on oceanspaces.org. The symposium was convened by California Ocean Science Trust and MPA Monitoring Enterprise, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Fish and Game Commission, and the California Ocean Protection Council.
