Norfolk: Ontario’s Secret Garden | 5 Stops - Episode 3 | LCBO
A Food & Drink Original Series. New episode every Wednesday until November 20th.
With the most fertile soil, its mild climate, and long growing seasons, it’s no wonder these rich crops are referred to as Ontario’s garden. But there’s a lot more growing in Norfolk than produce. Wineries, craft breweries, and inventive restaurants have been popping up over the past few years. We’ve uncovered a few that are ripe for the picking.
In this episode our hosts explore things to do in Norfolk County and stop in to visit Matz Fruit Barn, Jensen Cheese, New Limburg Brewing Company, Pleasant Port Fish Co., and Burning Kiln Winery.

Norfolk looking to wineries for eco tourism - GreenHub.ca
It sounds counterintuitive. How many businesses actually crave competition? But that's how the wine economy works best, according to Simcoe lawyer Mike McArthur, co-owner of the Burning Kiln winery near Turkey Point and chair of South Coast Wines.

FeastON at The Combine
Feast ON - a certified taste of Ontario is for locals and travellers alike that seek out authentic tastes of place when travelling.
The Combine is located in the heart of Norfolk County in a 109-year-old house just outside downtown Simcoe. The Combine explores the agricultural diversity within Norfolk County and follows the seasons with it's menu's. The Combine is also fortunate to be sitting on a large plot of land which has provided a 2500 sq ft garden that grows all GMO free herbs, lettuces, and vegetables that provide the kitchen with just out of the ground freshness, a true backyard to table experience. Proprietors Ryan Rivard & Jennifer von Schleinitz, who share space with The Combine, living above the restaurant, believe that, to quote Douglas Adams, To give real service you must add something that cannot be measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.
