Burns Park, North Little Rock, AR
Burns Park is right off I-40, exit 150. Great park with lots to do. The campground is very nice with good sized campsites. We read that the park is about 1700 acres. It is on both sides of I-40 and easy to get to whereever you want to go in Little Rock. Two disc golf courses, ball golf courses, foot golf, amusement park and much more.
All comments are welcome. I'm still learning the editing game so suggestions are very helpful.

Little Rock: Old Mill
T. R. Pugh Memorial Park (or The Old Mill) is a re-creation of a 1880s era water-powered grist mill located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. It was used in the opening scenes of the movie classic Gone With The Wind. In 2010, the site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The park was built in 1933 by Justin Matthews and named in honor of Thomas R. Pugh, of Portland, Arkansas, who was a close friend and benefactor of Matthews. The architect for the park and the mill was Frank Carmean with artist Dionicio Rodriguez serving as sculptor of the concrete work to simulate wooden, iron, and steel structures.
In the present day, due to its picturesque views, the Old Mill serves as the backdrop for weddings and portrait photography.
In 2008, the roof was set on fire, but no permanent damage resulted.

Had a great time here. Had one wreck and later ran into some caliper issues. Some good samaritans attempted to help and I wound up just pulling the rear caliper and attaching it out of the way with a zip tie. I recommend giving this play a ride, just be prepared for some chunk. Otherwise its nice flowing singletrack.
Old Mill Park North little Rock Arkansas (4)
he Old Mill, located at Fairway Ave. & Lakeshore Drive in North Little Rock, is a historic re-creation of an 1880's water-powered grist mill. The mill was seen in the opening scenes of David Selznick's 1937 movie classic Gone With The Wind, and is believed to be the only remaining structure from the film. Admission to The Old Mill is free, and the hours of operation are from sunrise to sunset.
The Old Mill, also known as Pugh's Mill, was built in 1933 by Justin Matthews as a replica of an old-water-powered grist mill. The mill was designed to appear as if it belonged in Arkansas and had been here since the 1800s. It is made largely from tinted concrete work over steel and copper rods made to represent wood, iron or stone, and features sculptures by Mexican artist Senor Dionicio Rodriguez.
The Old Mill was nationally recognized in 1986 by being placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was also presented with the Greater Little Rock Historic Preservation Award by the Quapaw Quarter Association.
The grist mill on the first floor dates back to 1828, and some mill rocks on the second floor came from the plantation of Tom Knoble, the grandfather of Tom Pugh, in whose honor the Mill is dedicated. There are also two original milestones from a road laid out more than 150 years ago by Jefferson Davis. Along this road, the Cherokee and Choctaw Indians traveled from the present town of Dardanelle into the Indian territory, now Oklahoma. In addition three sections of a wrought iron shaft were cut from the stern wheel of a passenger steamboat, which traveled the Arkansas River in the 1800's, are used in the mill.
The park is decorated with sculptures of toadstools, tree stumps, and several ornate bridges. Senor Dionico Rodriguez, a sculptor and artist from Mexico City, was responsible for all the details of each piece of concrete work made to represent wood, iron or stone, as well as the designing of the foot bridges and rustic seats. During the summer of 1991, Rodriguez's work at the Old Mill was renovated by the grandson of the original artist, Carlos Cortes
The Old Mill is often used for many outdoor activities including picnicking, relaxing, and even weddings or photo shoots. It is not unheard of for people to choose the Old Mill as a place to say their nuptials and many schools around North Little Rock have their school photos taken there.
A lake stretches into the Lakewood neighborhood below the Old Mill. The architect for the mill and park was Frank Carmean, the artist was Senor Dionicio Rodriguez, and the builder was the Justin Matthews Company.
The Old Mill Park was originally christened the T. R. Pugh Memorial Mill in honor of Thomas R. Pugh, of Portland, Arkansas, a staunch friend and benefactor of Matthews. The Old Mill was given to the City of North Little Rock as a gift by the former Justin Matthews Company on May 24, 1976. Maintained and landscaped by the Pulaski County Master Gardeners and North Little Rock Parks & Recreation, the park includes a variety of tree species including Eastern Redbud, Black Locust, Post Oak, Northern Red Oak, White Oak, and Shortleaf Pine.

ICE Detains a Dozen after ABC Investigated LR Club
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-- An investigation at a Little Rock night club ended with a dozen people arrested by federal agents.
A spokesperson with the Alcoholic Beverage Control, known as ABC, said it received numerous complaints from the public about the club Trois on Asher Avenue.
Little Rock night club Trois was locked up tight Monday morning after we learned Friday night there ended with a dozen people inside the Lonoke city jail.
ABC Spokesperson Scott Hardin said, (An) On site investigation came together really based on the numerous complaints we had received from the public.
He said the state agency received complaints about the club that prompted them to conduct an on site investigation.
Hardin said based on the severity of the allegations ABC asked Immigration and Customs Enforcement known ICE and the Little Rock Police Department to help them in the on-site investigation.
Our reporter Price McKeon asked Hardin, Is that normal to bring in the federal level?
He said, No. Now we do partner with law enforcement throughout the state and sometimes that does involve federal law enforcement agencies. However that is not a regular go to.
A spokesperson with ICE sent us a statement that read Reports of an ICE raid are false. ICE does not conduct any type of random or indiscriminate enforcement that targets individuals indiscriminately..
The Lonoke Police Chief confirmed the city jail received a group of people to hold for ICE on Saturday.
Hardin said, Again some of these allegations that were made against club we had to take very seriously.
ABC said the club was cited Friday for underage drinking and minors in the club.
When we asked about why the federal government was brought in Hardin replied, Again a long list of complaints was filed some of which hinted that we needed ICE there and that's why they were brought in. We can't say specifically what the complaint was but when it did come in we knew ICE needed to be there.
LRPD said its officers did not go in the business, make an arrest or transport anyone.
Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola said the city and police will continue to protect all citizens and does not want anyone to hesitate to call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
We are still working to confirm what will happen with the people arrested.
We received an additional statement from someone within ABC.
Boyce hamlet, the director of ABC enforcement, sent a statement that read offered: ABC has several controls in place, both at the state and federal level to ensure no primary care giver was removed from their family or that any minor children were placed in danger. The individuals ICE detained to evaluate their citizenship either had active warrants for their arrest or multiple incidents of being removed from the United States.”
ABC added that the allegations it could mention in the complaints were related to drugs, minors in the club and underage drinking in the club.
ABC said the club was cited on Friday for serving alcohol to underage people and minors being inside the club.
Hardin sent us an additional statement that read: June 10 of this year club Trois received abc violations for disorderly conduct due to a fight in the bathroom that included someone stabbed) and a violation for allowing consumption of alcohol after legally prescribed hours of operation. The club has the option of contesting these violations which it has done. This will be heard at the abc board meeting on August 15.
We are working to confirm the status of the 12 people taken to the Lonoke jail.
ABC said the investigation into the club that prompted the on-site investigation is still on-going at this time.
