Mummers Play Burton in Lonsdale 2010
Mummers Play commemorating St George and the Dragon and 5th anniversary of the Burton in Lonsdale Community-Owned Village Shop. Part I
Bellringing at All Saints, Burton In Lonsdale, North Yorkshire
Taken from my Tower outing 7th May 2016, my apologies for the wind noise X(. The spire has recently been renovated with new tiles, and I found that a bag of the old tiles could be bought from the village shop for £1. The bells here are the original 11cwt 1870 John Warner and Sons bells, they handle quite well, and sound alright....I could see Ingleborough from a window in the ringing room.
A683 Lancaster to Kirby Lonsdale bike meet ...
...at Devil's Bridge . Once again , there weren't many bikes there as it's Monday - and it was late in the afternoon when I arrived ! The Hornby Castle is a Private Residence ....according to a notice on the gates - pity cos it appears to have a moat on my map ! I'll have a nosey on Google Earth ....

A Look at Ingleton Village, North Yorkshire. 14th Feb 2013
This is a video I made during a brief visit to the village of Ingleton in North Yorkshire on 14th February 2013. The video shows the now redundant railway viaduct across the Holme valley, we also look at Main Street with its shops and cafes. And we take a look at the recreational area, complete with Summer outdoor swimming pool and also the River Twiss flowing alongside. I have done a seperate video showing the famous Ingleton Waterfalls.

Lancaster River Lune Flood Part 2
06/12/2015: On Sunday morning, the river was still high and still bursting it's banks (check Part 1); took this video on my way to church. Three bridges were blocked off in Lancaster, including the only 2 car crossings. During the entire day; Lancaster was entirely without power except for some blind spots.

Coates Mill Cottage - Cotswolds UK
Luxury self-catering accommodation in the heart of the Cotswolds. Coates Mill Cottage is stylish 200-year-old Cotswold stone property. It lies in a quiet position in a wooded hollow with a mill stream opposite at the end of a terrace. The property's rural setting belies the fact that it is only a 10-minute walk from the centre of Winchcombe and a 5-minute walk from the nearest pub, The Corner Cupboard. Winchcombe is a small Cotswold town with a wealth of old buildings, and Sudeley Castle. It has a good choice of local shops, pubs and restaurants. For a special occasion, guests may wish to book 'No 5' restaurant, which has a Michelin star. Cheltenham Race Course is a 10-minute drive away. There are excellent walks in all directions from Winchcombe, including The Cotswold Way.

Eastbourne
Eastbourne ( pronunciation ) is a large town, seaside resort, and borough in East Sussex, on the south coast of England, 17 miles (27 km) east of Brighton. Eastbourne is located immediately east of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain and part of the South Downs National Park. With a seafront consisting largely of Victorian hotels, the pier, and a Napoleonic era fort and military museum, Eastbourne was developed by the Duke of Devonshire in 1800 from four separate hamlets. It has a growing population, a broad economic base, and is home to companies in a wide range of industries.
Though Eastbourne is a relatively new town, there is evidence of human occupation in the area from the Stone Age. The town grew as a fashionable tourist resort largely thanks to prominent landowner, William Cavendish, later known as the Duke of Devonshire. Cavendish appointed architect Henry Currey to design a street plan for the town, but not before sending him to Europe to draw inspiration. The resulting mix of architecture is typically Victorian and remains a key feature of Eastbourne.

Five Principles of Extraordinary Math Teaching | Dan Finkel | TEDxRainier
In this perspective-expanding and enjoyable talk, Dan Finkel invites us to approach learning and teaching math with courage, curiosity, and a sense of play.
Dan Finkel wants everyone to have fun with math. After completing his Ph.D. in algebraic geometry at the University of Washington, he decided that teaching math was the most important contribution he could make to the world. He has devoted much of his life to understanding and teaching the motivation, history, aesthetics, and deep structure of mathematics.
Dan is the Founder and Director of Operations of Math for Love, a Seattle-based organization devoted to transforming how math is taught and learned. A teacher of teachers and students, Dan works with schools, develops curriculum, leads teacher workshops, and gives talks on mathematics and education throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Dan is one of the creators of Prime Climb, the beautiful, colorful, mathematical board game. He contributes regularly to the New York Times Numberplay blog and hosts Seattle’s Julia Robinson Math Festival annually. In his spare time he performs improv comedy in Seattle.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at

Morecambe Bay Ride-Pt 1
Welcome to our Morecambe Bay ride. On this part we leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 (South Lakes and Kirkby Lonsdale) and head for Hest Bank near Morecambe via some lovely narrow lanes and through some picturesque villages. We arrive at the level crossing at Hest Bank just in time to see two high speed trains go by. After the automatic gates open, we ride along the little coast road and park up. We are ready for something to eat. This is where part two takes over. Thanks for watching. FJR Biker Paul.
