#Busan sits on the Korean Peninsula’s southern coastline, just a short flight from Asian capitals like Beijing and Tokyo.
Busan’s coastline offers scenery to match your every mood. Just a 40-minute subway ride from Busan Station is the city’s star attraction, Haeundae Beach. Seeking a little enlightenment? Make a wish at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, one of the few temples in Korea built by the ocean. While Busan’s story has been shaped by the sea, it’s a city equally defined by its mountains. On Mt Cheonma, hike to the observation platform to see “Dynamic Busan” spread out before you.
The colorful village of Gamcheon is symbolic of Busan’s new-found creative energy. The residents of Gamcheon transformed their neighborhood into one of the city’s top tourist #attractions. This creativity is echoed in Busan’s word-class museums, galleries and festivals.
Welcome to Busan, a feast for all the senses, and the soul.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Beautiful Jeju Island - Jeju Folk Village 4K
With a total of 117 houses and facilities, Jeju Folk Village has restored the scenes of the village to that of the 1890’s. Among them are Mountain Village, Hill-Country Village, Fishing Village and Shamanism Village. On land of more than 40 acres it has been reconstructed following long-term research and analysis of experts. Some of the extensive range of folk items on display are 1,627 woodenware, 1,046 bamboo ware, 1,699 earthenware, 1,544 porcelain ware, 765 wax candles, 921 ironware and 579 other items. The Jeju Folk Village is the island’s main tourist attraction where customs of the old days can be explored.
Since March 2006, Daejanggeum Mini Theme Park located at the Jeju Folk Village, offers various things for visitors to see. Many of the scenes from episodes 27 to 32 of the historical drama, in which Jang-geum learns medicine as a maid were filmed at Jeju Folk Village. In order to fit the theme of Daejanggeum, the separate locations have joined together, and are now open to tourists. Visitors can appreciate the amazing scenic beauty of Jeju as well as experience the traditional culture of Jeju at this theme park.
Seochon Village
[Anchor Lead]
Today we're taking you to Seochon Village located to the west of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. During the Joseon period this village was home to court ladies, medical officers and artists. We take a trip back in time in today’s close up.
[Pkg]
Seochon Village is home to 660 traditional-style houses known as hanok. During the Joseon period, it was home to court ladies, medical officers and writers. Nowadays it's a famous tourist spot where you can feel the breath of history.
[Soundbite] Ahn Sun-hwa(Back Alley Guide) : Seochon is home to a cluster of hanok houses that were built in the late 1920s under a housing plan. It has been preserved in its original state because the urban development in this area has been restricted to protect historical and cultural legacy.
Seochon Village rose in popularity after it was introduced in the romance film Architecture 101 about the memories of first love. The house that was visited by the main characters of the movie has been remodeled into a photo studio. Visitors coming here can reenact romantic scenes from the movie.
[Soundbite] It's nice to be here, because this place reminds me of the days when my husband and I dated.
An old book store located in a hanok has been preserved to this day, except that now it's a cafe.
[Soundbite] Chang Jae-hoon(Cafe Owner) : This bookstore was founded by my maternal grandparents 60 years ago. I have made it into a cafe to show people what old hanok houses look like.
Inside, the cafe is full of old books and everyday items. Visitors can also try on old school uniforms of the 1970s and play the harmonium. It's like traveling back in time.In the past, this place was home to many scholars and artists. The boarding house where renowned Korean poet Yoon Dong-joo used to live has also become an attraction. Visitors can also see an old inn where young artists stayed, and the house of genius writer Lee Sang, who represented Korean literature in the 1930s.

Culture of Jeju Haenyeo (women divers)
UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2016
URL:
Description: In Jeju Island, a community of women, some aged in their 80s, goes diving to gather shellfish for a living. The Jeju haenyeo (female divers) harvest up to seven hours a day, 90 days of the year holding their breath for every 10m dive. Beforehand, prayers are said for safety and an abundant catch. Transmission occurs in families, fishery cooperatives and The Haenyeo School. The traditional practice advances women’s status in the community, represents the island’s identity and promotes sustainability.

10. Dadohae Haesang National Park
At the bottom of South Korea is the Dadohae Haesang National Park, 1,700 islands spread out across the southern coastal waters. These islets vary in size with some home to isolated communities while some hold merely a few dozen trees. Cheongsando is one of the larger islands. Translated to ‘Blue Mountain Island’, it’s a ‘slow city’ meaning it’s one of the best places to discover genuine and authentic culture.
09. Suwon
Suwon is the largest metropolis of Gyeonggi-do, the province which surrounds Seoul. The Hwaseong Fortress was built in 1794 by the Joseon dynasty ruler King Jeongjo with the aim to move the capital from Seoul to Suwon. However, before this could happen King Jeongjo died and power stayed in Seoul.
08. Busan
South Korea’s second biggest city, Busan brings together tropical beaches and majestic mountains, ancient Buddhist temples and a glamorous film festival. Busan is famous for its delicious seafood with many restaurants and the Jagalchi fish market. For incredible vistas of the intriguing city, hike to the top of Jangan Mountain. While many of Korea’s temples are nestled in hills and mountains, the Haedong Yonggung Temple is on Busan’s coast overlooking the Sea of Japan.
07. Pyeongchang
A peaceful place with astonishing scenery, Pyeongchang has seen a lot of development in recent years. It’s found in the Taeback Mountains region with parts of it sitting 2,300 feet above sea level. With lots of seasonal snow and maximum temperatures reaching just above freezing in January, it’s the perfect location for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
06. Andong & Hahoe Folk Villages
Andong’s peaceful, rural surroundings are in stark contrast to the buzz of Seoul. Set in the heart of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Andong is noted for having preserved much of its traditional spirit. A great place to see Korean traditions unfold is the cultural village of Hahoe, where the noble Ryu family originated and have lived for the past 600 years.
05. The Demiliterized Zone (DMZ)
The Korean DMZ or Korean Demilitarized Zone is a buffer zone between North and South Korea. Created in 1953 at the end of the Korean War, the DMZ remains as one of the most militarized regions in the world.
04. Jeju Island
Although it lies only 85km off the coast of South Korea, Jeju Island (more specifically Jeju-do) has developed its own unique history, traditional dress, architecture and linguistic traditions. With a moderate climate that differs surprisingly from the mainland, Jeju-do has a sub-tropical southern side and a more temperate northern region.
03. Seoraksan National Park
Designated as a Biosphere Protection Site by UNESCO, the 400 000 sq km Seoraksan National Park’s unique rock formations, wildlife, hot springs, dense woodland and temples from the Silla-era make it an area of South Korea that simply has to be visited. Each area of this incredibly beautiful park has its own unique appeal and attractions.
02. Gyeongju
Once the capital of the ancient kingdom of Silla, Gyeongju is a coastal city in South Korea with a rich selection of cultural and historical attractions. Its Silla heritage stretches back over 1000 years, with ancient sites, relics and ruins found throughout the city. The Gyeongju National Museum is home to countless treasures and the 23 ton Emille Bell cast in AD771. Gyeongju's other highlights include the scenic Anapji Pond, Tumuli Park which is the site of incredible giant grass-covered burial mounds and the ancient UNESCO World Heritage Listed Bulguk-sa Temple.
01. Seoul
The vibrant, modern city of Seoul definitively lives up to the ‘24-hour party’ tag that other cities can only pay lip service to. A buzzing urban expanse that is striving to reshape its hardened concrete and steel edges with gorgeous city parks, cultural landmarks and tasteful design. You’ll find a host of exciting places to eat, drink, shop and relax, whether you’re in Hongdae’s chic bars and restaurants or the stylish boutiques of Apgujeong.
