“Yukon, the wild quest ” or the passion for the origins of humankind (english sub)
Kim Pasche was barely 20 years old when he left his hometown of Moudon, Switzerland to explore barefoot the heart of Canada’s North. At the end of the journey there is Man’s origin, something Kim Pasche has searched and questionned since his childhood. Driven by archeology and the wild life, he has since experimented Early Life’s techniques and facts in the vastness of Yukon, a journey in the heart of time, nature and humanity.
Touching the origin of things… A quest that has driven Kim Pasche since his childhood. Passionate by nature, it is there that he first questionned artifacts and everyday gestures to attempt discovering their secrets.
His vocation will reach its full extent when his path crosses the ones of Early Life specialists. Then, a new horizon opens before Kim: Experimental archeology that he practices in trainings or in collaboration with museums in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. This land becomes quickly too small for the young man’s procedure that he establishes progressively. In order to come as close as possible to life’s conditions of a hunter-gatherer and to better understand them, Kim Pasche has to search a playground matching the height of his quest. He will end up finding the appropriate wild life within Canada’s North, in Yukon, a territory as big as Spain and almost unpopulated. For ten years, Kim has spent several months per year deep in the wild forest in order to question primitive life. It is a journey through space and time between two worlds, from the dawn of humanity to our modern civilization.

14 Days Solo Camping in the Yukon Wilderness - E. 1 - Outfitting & Bush Plane Drop Off
#yukonwild #aloneinthewild #bravewilderness
The Yukon holds some of the World’s last large expanses of wilderness. It’s, brave wilderness - deep backcountry camping, remote wild camping in the full sense of the word as it’s well off grid and far from the road system. This is episode 1 of my documentary series about my survival in the woods where I’m truly alone in the wild and exploring the Yukon. After bush flying into a remote mountain lake, I head out solo camping and fishing on a wilderness travel adventure for fourteen days by canoe. On the trip, I paddle the advanced level whitewater of the Hess River and then follow the Stewart River, completing the trip some 400 kilometres later in the community of Mayo. On this adventure, I catch Arctic Graylings and Lake Trout. What’s better than catching wild Trout for a catch and cook over the fire while in the Yukon? I also find a remote traditionally-built trappers log cabin, run multiple whitewater rapids, undertake long, bushwhacked portages and see a lot of wildlife.
The Yukon is a place where dreams are made and where adventurers have been going to follow their dreams since the Klondike gold rush in the 1880s. As much as anyone, I went there to follow my dreams and they became a reality.

Join me on an amazing campout in the most remote, northern location I've ever shot a video at.
I get dropped off alone by a fishing boat, on a remote northern Island in the Northwest Territories in remote Canada, left by myself to last the day and night.
I go on a huge hike to find a suitable spot to fish, I pull out about 7 or 8 small lake trout, I keep one for an epic catch and cook.
I sit by the campfire, and relax at night.

Catch and Cook Wild Gopher Stew - Day 3-5 of 30 Day Survival Challenge Canadian Rockies
Over the next three days, Greg and Zach venture deeper into the Rocky Mountain wilderness, foraging a stockpile of edible plants along the way. The fish are biting better and the pair manage to catch and cook some nice rainbow trout before moving camp, but a few successful hunting trips put gopher on the menu. In his spare time, Greg starts carving a new staff and building his bushcraft fishing rod.
There's only one rule for the 30 Day Survival Challenge: If you want to eat, you got to Catch and Cook it.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.
