Cardiff,Wales-city centre
Cardiff is the capital and largest city in Wales and the tenth largest city in the United Kingdom. The city is the country's chief commercial centre, the base for most national cultural and sporting institutions, the Welsh national media, and the seat of the National Assembly for Wales. The unitary authority area's mid-2011 population was estimated to be 346,100, while the population of the Larger Urban Zone was estimated at 861,400 in 2009. Cardiff is a significant tourist centre and the most popular visitor destination in Wales with 18.3 million visitors in 2010.[1] In 2011, Cardiff was ranked sixth in the world in National Geographic's alternative tourist destinations.[2]
The city of Cardiff is the county town of the historic county of Glamorgan (and later South Glamorgan). Cardiff is part of the Eurocities network of the largest European cities.[3] The Cardiff Urban Area covers a slightly larger area outside of the county boundary, and includes the towns of Dinas Powys and Penarth. A small town until the early 19th century, its prominence as a major port for the transport of coal following the arrival of industry in the region contributed to its rise as a major city.
Cardiff was made a city in 1905, and proclaimed the capital of Wales in 1955. Since the 1990s, Cardiff has seen significant development. A new waterfront area at Cardiff Bay contains the Senedd building, home to the Welsh Assembly and the Wales Millennium Centre arts complex. Current developments include the continuation of the redevelopment of the Cardiff Bay and city centre areas with projects such as the Cardiff International Sports Village, a BBC drama village,[4] and a new business district in the city centre.[5] Cardiff is the largest media centre in the UK outside of London.
Sporting venues in the city include the Millennium Stadium (the national stadium for the Wales national rugby union team and the Wales national football team), SWALEC Stadium (the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club), Cardiff City Stadium (the home of Cardiff City football team), Cardiff International Sports Stadium (the home of Cardiff Amateur Athletic Club) and Cardiff Arms Park (the home of Cardiff Blues and Cardiff RFC rugby union teams). The city is also HQ of the Wales Rally GB and was awarded with the European City of Sport in 2009 due to its role in hosting major international sporting events. It has been announced that Cardiff will again be the European City of Sport in 2014.[6] The Millennium Stadium hosted 11 football matches as part of the 2012 Summer Olympics, including the games' opening event and the men's bronze medal match.[7]

Driving past 'Tremorfa Steelworks' - Cardiff, Wales
Steel is an alloy of iron and other elements, primarily carbon, that is widely used in construction and other applications because of its high tensile strength and low cost. Steel's base metal is iron, which is able to take on two crystalline forms (allotropic forms), body centered cubic (BCC) and face centered cubic (FCC), depending on its temperature. It is the interaction of those allotropes with the alloying elements, primarily carbon, that gives steel and cast iron their range of unique properties. In the body-centred cubic arrangement, there is an iron atom in the centre of each cube, and in the face-centred cubic, there is one at the center of each of the six faces of the cube. Carbon, other elements, and inclusions within iron act as hardening agents that prevent the movement of dislocations that otherwise occur in the crystal lattices of iron atoms.
The carbon in typical steel alloys may contribute up to 2.1% of its weight. Varying the amount of alloying elements, their presence in the steel either as solute elements, or as precipitated phases, retards the movement of those dislocations that make iron comparatively ductile and weak, and thus controls its qualities such as the hardness, ductility, and tensile strength of the resulting steel. Steel's strength compared to pure iron is only possible at the expense of iron's ductility, of which iron has an excess.
Steel was produced in bloomery furnaces for thousands of years, but its extensive use began after more efficient production methods were devised in the 17th century, with the production of blister steel and then crucible steel. With the invention of the Bessemer process in the mid-19th century, a new era of mass-produced steel began. This was followed by Siemens-Martin process and then Gilchrist-Thomas process that refined the quality of steel. With their introductions, mild steel replaced wrought iron.
Further refinements in the process, such as basic oxygen steelmaking (BOS), largely replaced earlier methods by further lowering the cost of production and increasing the quality of the product. Today, steel is one of the most common materials in the world, with more than 1.3 billion tons produced annually. It is a major component in buildings, infrastructure, tools, ships, automobiles, machines, appliances, and weapons. Modern steel is generally identified by various grades defined by assorted standards organizations.
United States:
The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S.) or America (/əˈmɛrɪkə/), is a federal republic[16][17] composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions.[fn 6] Forty-eight states and the federal district are contiguous and located in North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is in the northwest corner of North America, bordered by Canada to the east and across the Bering Strait from Russia to the west. The state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific Ocean. The U.S. territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, stretching across nine official time zones. The extremely diverse geography, climate and wildlife of the United States make it one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries.[19]
At 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million km2)[20] and with over 324 million people, the United States is the world's third- or fourth-largest country by total area,[fn 7] and the third-most populous. The capital is Washington, D.C., and the largest city is New York City; twelve other major metropolitan areas—each with at least 4.5 million inhabitants—are Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Riverside.

BARRY, WALES
One of the leading commercial finance brokers in Wales Go Commercial Finance Ltd is showing exceptional growth 100% year on year and is on track for 400% growth since 2016 projected for 2018-2019.
Due to an increased lending demand for small business finance and loans.
Go Commercial finance have had a record year proving a 400% growth since 2016. To keep the growth trend continuing they have recruited to senior management roles. Owen Jones as Operations Director and Sian Gunney as Marketing Director at Go Commercial Finance.
Owen Jones from Vale of Glamorgan joins the team with over 15 years of experience from financial services.
Having been involved with Go Commercial Finance since it’s inception, Owen will now strengthen the management team carrying out a more hands-on role. With a focus on operational efficiency and a background in business change, his wealth of service and transformation experience, all combine to position him to lead the operation and help guide the next steps of growth.
Sian Gunney from Rhiwbina joins the team with 12 years of experience in Marketing and PR. As 48 in the top 100 of influencers globally on Digital Marketing. This will be a big area of development and business growth for the group with head quarters in Wales and core offices in London. As a business, we are leveraging the organisation’s data to support GDPR compliance. Simultaneously driving forward to develop the companies profile both online and offline to make more business directors aware of our services.
David Vieira, Go Commercial Finance Managing Director said: We have seen an upturn in certain sectors of business finance and we have had to adapt quickly. Exceptional growth in property purchase and development manufacturing, retail and construction” has meant we needed to expand our expertise in these areas. We have invested heavily in recruitment, hiring an experienced team to run and look after our existing and new clients offering dedicated supportive service in each sector.
“I’m proud of what our team has achieved over the last five years. We have been honoured to have supported so many businesses across Wales UK to realise their business ambitions. We have grown on solid foundations of integrity, quality of both expertise and referrals.
All of our growth to date has been built from referrals alone not because we have invested in marketing. So 2018 sees a real change with the new commercial drive via marketing and wider awareness.
This is a huge thanks to my core team of experts William Annett who is Head of our London office, Ian Tovey Head of Property Finance, Nicole Rees Business Finance Consultant, Rob Morgan Head of Business Loans, James Jenkins Broker Relationship Manager, Nicky Vieira Business Finance Consultant and Lee Ford Head of Business Development and Structured Finance. Our team has a combined 80 + years of experience in the Financial Industry.
Our focus has not been on fast growth, but from filling a void in the marketplace. With a commercial funding business that is driven on high-quality duty of care and hands-on client servicing.
Turbulent economic times with Britain’s exit from Europe on the horizon don’t show any signs of impacting businesses in Wales or across the UK.
With the new additions of Sian and Owen, we look forward to implementing our ambitious, yet achievable goals of being the “GO” to broker in 2018/2019.

Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
Barry is a town and community in the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales. It is located along the northern coast of the Bristol Channel less than 7 miles south-southwest of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. Barry is a seaside resort, with attractions including several beaches and formerly Barry Island Pleasure Park. Once a small village, Barry has absorbed its larger neighbouring villages of Cadoxton and Barry Island. It grew significantly from the 1880s with the development of Barry Docks, which in 1913 was the largest coal port in the world.
The place was possibly named after Saint Baruc. However another explanation is that it comes from the Welsh bar meaning a hill or rise. Therefore the Welsh name, Y Barri, means 'The Hills. Given Barry's geography, it is an apt description. The first reference to it being named after St Baruc is from Giraldus Cambriensis. Gerald was himself from Barry and describes the area thus:
