Join us as we visit Butlin's Minehead for a midweek break full of fantastic entertainment, the traditional fairground and much more. In this video we share a room tour of the gold accommodation at the Minehead resort along with showcasing the various different attractions. We watch an awesome tribute to Robbie Williams, watch the famous Redcoat show and much more including on ride footage from the many different attractions at the fairground. We also hire a dino bike, visit various different shops and restaurants and much more in our action packed vlog!

Butlins Minehead, Centre Stage: England vs Germany, June 20 (720p Version)
England have made it to the next round... and Butlins gave 3,500 supporters the best seat in the house! With massive screens and full sound, the atmosphere was electric from this Hot Summer Party crowd, visiting Minehead at one of Butlin's legendary Adult Weekends!
...Actually, I don't really do football, this was just another test of putting together a quick vid on the iPhone 4 and banging it on YouTube to see how it came out. This test did not involve the built-in flash for two reasons; 1) best save that for the party night tonight with lots of movement and energy, and 2) didn't fancy getting lynched by a bunch of xenomaniacal maniacs for distracting them during the game!
So, to recap: filmed on the iPhone 4, directly from the app, edited and titled in iMovie for iPhone and rendered to 720p output. Whole thing took 8 mins...
UPDATED: This version is the one, once synced from my iPhone 4 to my laptop, then uploaded

Butlins Minehead Then & Now Part 2 of 4
During a recent visit to Butlins Minehead I took along lots of old photos of the camp and attempted to recreate them as accurately as possible.
Turn annotations on for a description of each photo along with approximate dates they were taken.
Most of the older photos are from butlinsmemories.com, along with some from my own small collection and elsewhere on the internet.
All Butlins logos, advertising, and images of Billy Bear and the Skyline Gang are trademarks of Bourne Leisure Ltd.

Monorail (1965)
Skegness, Lincolnshire.
Various shots in a Skegness factory show carriages for a new monorail being made from fibreglass and wood. Men are seen painting carriages and screwing headlights into position.
Several good shots at Butlin's Holiday Camp in Skegness of campers getting into the finished monorail carriages ('Butlins Monorail' is written in small letters on the front of the car) and going for a ride around the camp grounds. A large man in tight shorts and top tries to squeeze into one of the carriages (looks like a Butlins comedian). Great shots of the holiday camp in this sequence, some taken from the monorail; chalets, the boating lake, the roller-skating rink and swimming pools. Two women and a man get into a vintage car and drive alongside the monorail as a contrast between old and modern transport.
