Known as one of the largest Historical Districts in America, Butte is easy to explore. Just hop onto Old Number One, the trolley car that boards next door to KOA at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center. You'll need time to see Berkeley Pit, an engineering marvel, and the largest truck-operated open-pit copper mine in America. Mansions of old-time mining barons cluster in Butte neighborhoods & old mining rigs stand tall on the skyline - certain to be a photographer's paradise.
After sightseeing, lace up hiking boots or maybe golf shoes-Jack Nicklaus designed Butte's Old Works Golf Course. Fish in nearby streams, stroll a trail and feed the ducks, swim in the heated pool, treat yourself to KOA's Deli fare and toast marshmallows in the evening over newly installed fire pits. Whether you are RVing, camping in a tent, or renting one of the KOA Kabins, the Butte Montana KOA Team will extend a warm Western welcome & go the extra mile to make your stay a comfortable and pleasant experience. Helena Montana on a Wednesday 1 of 2
This is a quick video testing out my new GoPro. I was driving to Safeway to get a bottle of wine.
Driving at dusk from Prospect to the Crater Lake Turnoff on Oregon 62 and 230
Just my dad and I enjoying conversation while driving in the awesome forest near Crater Lake, Oregon on Highway 62 and 230.
On.. My USA Road Trip - Part 2 - Mt. Shasta, CA to Vancouver, BC
Since I last saw you I've been to the North-West corner of the U.S. on a working holiday. While I was there I tried to explore and capture a little bit of the culture on my i-phone for you all to see the differences from ours (certainly different from my Indian culture trip) in a kind of Video Diary format. My good friend Dan has edited together all the footage I shot and made a smooth travelogue split into three 1hour chunks. This is part 2.
0:00:00 - 0:20:02
In this part we take aboard some melt water from Mt. Shasta before returning North - through Weed, Springfield and Eugene in Oregon; then striking out West for the Pacific Ocean. The road to the ocean is long, so we are more than glad to see the beach and kick our shoes off. After all that driving it's time to rest up in a motel room which boasts a real fire, in a small coastal town called Yachats. They have a superb video library there, and a few problems with Bears. After all that healthy food I just fancy a beer and a pizza. What a choice! Then it's back to Bellingham non-stop!
0:20:03 - 0:25:33
Handing back our rental car I find myself back in Bellingham for a few days. We check out the craft shop and the co-op, and visit an ancient section of railway line hidden in a corner of the town. I send out my youtube video blog in front of the hazy evening sunshine - the perfect time for sungazing before the off.
0:25:34 - 0:52:21
We take Elizabeths' station wagon North over the border into Canada; where we are joined by Kathleen (who kindly promoted my Canadian event) and Maria (one of my students) in Vancouver. We take a trip along the coast road into town and discover the city beach, before heading up to the flats where Kathleen lives - which commands a stunning view of the city. Next is The Centre for Spiritual Living; where we also catch a glimpse of some my students on their final day of training. I find an organic grocery store in Marpole, eat in various places, take a ride on the trolley bus, and explore a smoke shop; before performing a water ceremony (using Mt. Shasta water) at Kitts Point overlooking English Bay - joining similar events all over the world.
NOTES:
. This is just a 'walkabout' glimpse; a sketch of the areas I visit. My shamanistic events don't feature prominently in these videos - even though they are going on between filming. If you'd like to book me I am of course available worldwide.

INTIMIDATION TACTICS used by prospectors CAUGHT ON CAMERA!
Hey Sightseers, in today's video I share with you some of the intimidation tactics used by prospectors to scare away people from accessing the public lands where their mining claims are located. These tactics we personally witnessed while exploring BLM land around Quartzsite, Arizona. It appears BLM officials are turning a blind eye to these tactics as the postings are rather weather worn.

I wanted to record the town getting dark during the eclipse but it never really got dark. Guess I should have gone to Idaho.

Helena, MT - Part 1 / I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing-Aerosmith
(Eng/Pol) Helena is the capital city of the U.S. state of Montana. It's 19th century architecture dazzles and its gold rush history compels. Born during the Gold Rush of 1864, this is a rare town that's managed to become a modern city while retaining the character of its early years.

Road trips are an awesome way to spend a vacation. It's all about the journey and not just one destination. We have enjoyed visiting every continental US state including Alaska. If you are thinking of road tripping, drop me a line, I would be glad to help.

2010-07-09 #2 WI&M PRO Speeder Trip - Palouse - Garfield - Eden
** Keep an eye out at 7:20, you might miss it! ** In July of 2010 I attended the Washington, Idaho & Montana (WI&M) PRO speeder event in Potlatch Idaho. The first day was a trip from Potlatch ID to Marshall WA and return. Day two we offered rides to the public for the WI&M History Preservation Group in three areas; 1. Potlatch to Princeton and return, Potlatch to Kennedy Ford and return, and Palouse east Palouse, and day three was from Potlatch to Moscow and return. Total mileage for all three days for me was 250 miles.
These 7 videos are some of the highlights I videoed along the way.
Special thanks to all those at the WI&M and the WI&M Ry HPG for making this weekend just awesome.
Enjoy the ride!
Evening storm passes through Deer Lodge, Montana.
On a mid August evening in 2013 we are stopped for the night at a KOA in Deer Lodge Montana. In the distance the storm clouds gather and soon roll in and cover the town. The wind quickly picks up and lightning is seen flashing off in the distance hills. It never rained fully, just some large drops were felt, and within an hour or so it had blown over.
