Turkey Road Trip day 5 Fethiye, Oludeniz, Butterfly Valley, Antalya. by Life Travel Pepper
Getting up in the morning and looking at Fethiye blue coast was something breathtaking!!!
We decided to start the day by enjoy Calis beach and relaxing on the sand. To recover energies we delighted ourselves with a fantastic breakfast that Yasmin Hotel offered us and drank the famous turquish tea, always present on the turquish meals.
Full of energy we got on the road again, inspired by what we would discover during the day…Oludeniz and the Butterfly Valley!!!
As we were arriving at Oludeniz we could felt on our bodies the beauty that was presented to us on the horizon…turquoise coast on it´s magnificence!!! Strong blue, hot, and stunning beaches in the middle of gorgeous curved bays!!!! We just wanted to lay down and enjoy the day, and so we did it at the Green Pine beach, surrounded by a beautiful green camp with little huts where we could rest for a while and big straw umbrellas near the warm water.
Saddly, we got quiet disappointed when we realized that on that day and the next it was not possible to get on a boat trip to Butterfly Valley because the ocean was a bit sloppy (boat trip is the only way to get to that fantastic valley nowadays). So, we decided to go watch it from the high view point on the mountain and at least getting it on video with the drone. Better than nothing!!!!
After a nice meal during the afternoon, we started a new course, crossing for a long time a few high, rocky and craggy mountains surrounded with beautiful landscapes.
At night we finally arrived at Antalya, a vibrant city of people, with small paths and thrilling restaurants and stores, where we had a delicious dinner and a nice walk on foot before we go rest at Casa Sur Hotel, a cozy and striking house , two steps across the famous Hadrian´s gate.

Butterfly Valley - Fethiye Turkey
Butterfly Valley
Butterfly Valley is a natural site located at Ölüdeniz, Fethiye district. Surrounded by up to 350 metres of steep rocks, the valley takes its name from more than 80 different species of butterflies that lives here. The waterfall that falls from 50 metres to valley, reaches to Mediterranean as a stream flowing in the middle of the valley.
The valley is isolated from the outside world by steep cliffs and the sea; thus pollution is prevented. Added the environment friendly attitudes of the valley management and the steps taken to protect and preserve the valley made Butterfly Valley kind of a wild life park.

One of the most striking places of Fethiye is the Butterfly Valley. In 1995, the first degree natural SIT declared and closed to all kinds of construction in the rocky and pine forest valley after a little bit of climbing billions of butterflies, trees, trunks and leaves, in short, everywhere as a shawl covers a very amazing effect to see.
You don't notice this first, it looks like the natural image. But a sound, a movement that takes the sky butterflies covering the sky, the shadow falls into the valley.
To go to the Valley of the Butterflies, you will first go to Ölüdeniz, where you will rent a boat that you will rent or take a round-trip from the beach to the valley of the valley. The bay is also known as Ködürümsü Harbor. The boat ride takes half an hour. Those who wish on the way may also visit the blue cave. They can leave themselves in the water of the cave and leave them with blue-green reflections.
There are two paths within the Valley of Butterflies on the foothills of the 2,000-foot Babadağ. One goes to the waterfalls and the other to the Faralya village.
Sportmen, a little bit about the nature walks do not try to climb up the valley. They should be as far as the first waterfall. Self-confident, those who can't stand the unusual call of the valley will continue to see the view we have mentioned above.
The road to the village is very steep. One can climb up two places but with the help of rope. If you don't have mountaineering experience, never try. The landscape in the village is exceptional. If you follow the George House sign, you'll reach a house where you can have nice village food accompanied by a variety of buttermilk.
There is no luxury accommodation facility on the valley of butterflies. You can set up a tent or over the trees covered with bushes and leaves, you can spend the night on the terraces between the tree branches.
TURKEY: Ölüdeniz boat trip & Butterfly Valley [HD]
Boat trip along the Turkish coast: Ölüdeniz - Butterfly Valley - Aquarium Bay - St. Nicholas Island - Cold Spring Bay - Camel Beach.
Departure: 10:00 AM. Return: 5:00 PM.
Butterfly Valley (near Faralya village) is a remote canyon to the south, on the sea-shore, with some rare butterflies (no, I haven't seen one) and waterfall. Its name comes from a large swarm of endemic butterflies, the habitat of which is near the waterfalls on the canyon wall furthest from the sea.
Gemiler Island (nickname: St. Nicholas Island) has the remains of several churches built between the fourth and sixth centuries AD, along with a variety of associated buildings. Archaeologists believe it was the location of the original tomb of Saint Nicholas.
We booked the trip through Hamish McTurk Tours, Ölüdeniz:
I liked the smaller cruise boat: less people and less (very) loud music.

Akdeniz’in bunaltıcı yazları Vadi’de pek hissedilmez.
Kelebekler Vadisi’nin tarihi, kooperatif yapısı, misyonu
