Cabo Pulmo - Scuba Diving - Mexico - DJI Mavic Pro

Scuba Diving and seeing the sights in and around Cabo Pulmo during the month of January. We appreciated our time diving with Cabo Pulmo Watersports. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area. Although the underwater visibility wasn't very good during our dives, it was still worth the visit. We will definitely be back in hopes to see the ever increasing diversity of sea life in the marine preserve !

México cuenta con arrecifes en sus litorales del Golfo de México, el Mar Caribe, el Pacífico mexicano y el Golfo de California. En esta última región es relativamente común encontrar presencia de corales sobre la península de Baja California y especialmente al sur de la ciudad de Loreto, aunque su desarrollo es muy limitado. Sin embargo, en el municipio de Los Cabos, en Baja California Sur, se encuentra un verdadero arrecife: cabo Pulmo. Este es el único arrecife coralino en el Golfo de California y el más septentrional del Pacífico oriental tropical. El sitio presenta características muy particulares de hábitat, las cuales dan lugar a procesos oceanográficos complejos y relaciones ecológicas que le confieren no sólo importancia regional sino gran relevancia en el ámbito mundial. Por ello fue declarado como Parque Nacional en 1995, Patrimonio Natural de la Humanidad por UNESCO en 2005 y sitio RAMSAR en 2008.

We explore some of the best things to do on the East Cape of Baja California between Cabo San Lucas and La Paz. We camp at Canon de la Zorra and snorkel in the Cabo Pulmo Marine Reserve.
Camping at Los Arbolitos, Cabo Pulmo was perfect. Los Arbolitos is one of the only places to access the Cabo Pulmo reef without a boat.
After all our fun it was time to catch the ferry from Baja California to Mainland Mexico with Baja Ferries. While waiting for our departure we checked out the La Paz Malecon.

Travel to Hotel California (Todo Santos), El Mirador (San Jose del Cabo) & Cabo Pulmo.

The Hotel California:

Is an architectural, artistic and culinary masterpiece. The iconic building and grounds explode with color and showcase colonial Mexican architecture and furnishings. Original tile floors and a 100-year-old beam across the ceiling are juxtaposed with modern Mexican artwork. It's a fantastic photo opportunity. Although it is still a point of discussion whether or not the classic Eagle's song refers specifically to this local hotel, over the years thousands have flocked to the area to see the mirrors on the ceiling and the pink champagne on ice.

El Mirador, San Jose del Cabo:

Moving across the corridor to the older San Jose del Cabo, we have el Mirador de San Jose del Cabo, with incredible views over the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez, as well as the surrounding desert areas of Los Cabos. If you want to be located a bit farther away from all the action while taking in your views, this may be a better spot for you than a view point such as El Arco.

Cabo Pulmo:

Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park attracts many visitors for several reasons, it offers clear water and coral reefs below the surface that provide outstanding scuba diving and snorkelling views. Kayakers regularly arrive here and enjoy close sightings of the sea lion colony nearby. Several resorts are in this area if you choose to stay nearby and many watersport guides and tours are available. This is a good spot for whale viewing in January through March.

Amigos Activities - ATV TOUR & HORSEBACK Review.


While searching for fun things to do while visiting Cabo, we came across the combo ATV-Horseback Riding excursion found on Cabo San Lucas Tours ( It was a 4-hour activity altogether and costs $115 for a shared ATV and 2 horses, and transportation if you book through their website. If you book through your hotel, it costs $170. Don't forget to bring your own bandana, or otherwise, you can use the ones that are being used by the previous riders. If not, you can purchase one from them for $3 or $5 (not sure because we brought our own, so this is just a tip). Put tons of sunscreen protection as it is expected to be hot and sunny.

The horseback riding was ok, but it was still a good experience. On the other hand, we did enjoy the ATV ride! It was quite intense, but exciting at the same time. We will definitely do it again.

Don't forget to tip your guides. We really enjoyed our guide, Chano (very funny and entertaining). He speaks only limited English but we communicated just fine.
