An unexpected stop at this beautiful beach!!
It was a hot day and while driving we saw a sign saying beach. Only one of us had a bathing suit but that didn't stop us.
We had fun with the waves and the bone chilling cold water!!

Shubie Park Trail,Trans Canada Trail
Shubie Park is a 40-acre (160,000 m2) urban park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia maintained by the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Heavily forested, Shubie Park is roughly linear in shape as it is bounded on the north and west by Highway 118 expressway and on the south and east by Lake Micmac and the southern edge of Lake Charles. A section of the Shubenacadie Canal passes through the park, from which the park takes its name.
Shubie Park contains trails and an interpretive facility called the Fairbanks Centre next to the Canal and close to Locks 2 and 3 which are between Lakes Micmac and Charles. The Fairbanks Centre features a working scale model of canal lock mechanisms as well as a number of other displays. At the Centre visitors are able to pick up printed guides to the trail which goes on either side of the man-made channel between the two lakes which is just over a kilometer long. There are a number of interpretive signs along this trail which provide information about the history of the Waterway. The brochure includes directions for other trails in the Park as well.
The featured trail follows a remaining section of the waterway along the west side of Lake Charles and on to Porto Bello. Unfortunately at this time there is no connection to the Lake William Trail which will eventually allow hikers to make their way to Waverley and on to Lake Thomas. In the other direction it connects to the Graham’s Grove Park and continues toward downtown Dartmouth via Sullivans Pond Park and the Canal Marine Railway or Greenway park. In this area it is also possible to link up with the Harbourfront trail which carries on down to the Ferry Terminal in Woodside.

Duncan's Cove Hiking Trail | Halifax | Nova Scotia | Canada | Subtitles
In this video we are hiking Duncans Cove in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Being on the Atlantic Ocean, this trail was quite windy and cold, but the views were wonderful. This trail is about half an hour from the main city of Halifax. The trail is very popular. Many people will bring their dogs which is nice - and we were no different.
The trail took about 2-3 hours to complete as it was a 7 kms trek.
This is a very beautiful trail. Being so close to the city, it is one of the best hiking trails in Halifax. I'm not sure that you would want to call this a walking trail near Halifax since there are places where you do need to climb down, and the path in anything but flat and well groomed.
This is a fantastic Maritime hike!

RVing Adventures in Prince Edward Island, Canada [TREKKN Ep 11]
In Episode 10, you got to see some of the amazing sights in Acadia National Park, Maine. But that's not where our journey north stopped.

Our first stop was at the town of Cavendish on Prince Edward Island. If you are an Anne of Green Gables fan, then you might be freaking out a bit right now. Yup, this is the spot where that show was based.
And let me tell you, you definitely know that once you roll into Cavendish! Everything around there is based around, or references, Anne of Green Gables. It's a fantastic spot and full of natural beauty, as you might imagine.

We stayed just outside of Cavendish at an RV park called Tranquility By the Sea on the northern coast of the island. Small little place, no frills (other than a pool), but perfect for our needs and a great location to explore much of the island.
Just 5 minutes from the RV park is Prince Edward National Park...or at least one section of it. It actually spreads all around the island, but this section close to us was perfect for viewing some fabulous coastal sunsets over the crystal clear water. And we took full advantage of it.
We also got a chance to explore Cape Tryon Lighthouse on a couple of different occasions (one during the day and one for sunset) where the kiddos had a great time indulging in some cliff jumping and random ocean frollicking. Can't complain about that! Great times, great pics, great footage.
Later in the week, we made a drive about 90 minutes away to the Greenwich portion of Prince Edward Island National Park. This area included a nice path that wound it's way through fields and forest before turning into a boardwalk that crossed some large, shallow lake areas and then ended up at a beautiful sandy beach. It was the best of all worlds and everyone fully enjoyed the adventure.
If you find yourself up this way, be sure to hit these spots that we cover in the video. But also rememeber to hit a Cows Ice Cream shop! Freaking outstanding ice cream made right there on the island. You can't beat it.
