Places to see in ( Sevierville - USA )
Sevierville is a city in east Tennessee. To the south, Great Smoky Mountains National Park has forest trails and waterfalls. A statue of country singer Dolly Parton, a Sevierville native, is downtown by the 1896 beaux arts–style courthouse. The Tennessee Museum of Aviation has vintage aircraft, including 2 rare P-47 Thunderbolts. To the east, the Forbidden Caverns are vast underground caves with calcite formations.
In the town's eastern section, the Little Pigeon River is formed by the confluence of its East Fork and Middle Fork, both of which flow down from their sources high in the Great Smoky Mountains. Five miles (8 km) downstream to the west, the Little Pigeon absorbs its West Fork before turning north and flowing for another five miles (8 km) to its mouth along the French Broad River. Sevierville is centered on the stretch of land between these two junctions of the East and Middle Fork and the West Fork, known traditionally as Forks-of-the-Pigeon or Forks-of-the-River.
Situated in an area where the Foothills of the Great Smokies give way to the Tennessee Valley, Sevierville has long acted as a nexus between Knoxville to the north and the Appalachian towns in the mountains to the south. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located approximately ten miles south of Sevierville.
Like other towns situated along the Parkway in Sevier County, Sevierville has reaped the benefits of the burgeoning tourism industry brought on by the development of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As of 2004, nearly 50 percent of businesses based in Sevierville were linked to tourism. For example, there are more than 2,000 hotel and motel rooms in the city that generate more than $500,000 in hotel-motel tax revenues each year.

Great Smoky Mountain National Park
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the largest natural areas in the East, more than 800 square miles, a grand monument to the diversity of life and the resilience of nature. The park straddles the mountain ridges of two states - Tennessee and North Carolina - and is considered one of best places in Eastern America to enjoy nature through the seasons.

Foothills Parkway: Connecting the Missing Link
The 1.65-mile section of the Foothills Parkway known as the Missing Link is now connected! Located on a stretch of yet unopened road between Walland and Wears Valley, the Missing Link has been an obstacle for road crews since construction issues ceased the project in 1987. With the series of bridges now complete, crews are currently paving and installing barriers. The end of this work is scheduled for late 2018, adding 16 miles of completed parkway between Walland and Wears Valley. Watch this video for a brief history of the Foothills Parkway and some of the story behind how the Missing Link has been connected.

Don't ask me why the bitrate of this video is so bad in some spots on YouTube. The original source video isn't like that, YouTube needs to work on their video compression system.

Bigfoot Sighting (?) at Ober Gatlinburg, TN
Update: Subject in video is a big tree stump. The case is closed on this video.
On September 23, 2013, video footage was taken at exact same location from the chairlift going up at Ober Gatlinburg as it passed the #11 support structure and viewing to the south. The September 2013 video almost exactly replicated the video posted here from July 26, 2012.
So, if you want to see a big tree stump that looks kinda like a bigfoot when videotaped, on the chairlift going up the mountain at Ober Gatlinburg, as you pass the second support structure after the jump-off point for the chute ride and numbered 11, look south and view the big stump.
My apologies. From the video Deb shot in 2012, I was certain there was a moving critter out of the ordinary there. I was wrong, and feel like a complete heel to all those who I may have convinced.
But, we'll still be looking and learning. And we'll still be stumped.

Recumbent Trike Tour, Wears Valley, TN 2012-03-13, ActionBent, Catrike, Getty Images
In search of a close-by place to ride our trikes, Paul & I decided to try a route in Wears Valley. The climb of what was probably close to 1500', up/down/up/down in the down & back 12.5 mile route just about did us in for an early-in-the-season ride. With lots of scenery variation and minimal vehicular traffic, this will likely be revisited.
Besides, there is a Subway on a 1/2 mile side trip about midway through the loop (for that hunger pang bail-out! Enjoy.
