A Cairngorm Adventure | Part One | 1080p HD Documentary
This is my journey into Britain’s largest unspoilt wilderness, the Cairngorms National Park.. The Cairngorms are the most extensive range of high mountains in the UK, with a vast, tundra-like wilderness plateau, girt with magnificent corries, at the heart of the region. This is encircled by the beautiful valleys of the Rivers Spey and Dee, each passing through stunning landscapes of ancient Caledonian pinewoods teeming with wildlife. The National Park is dotted with jewel-like lochs such as Loch Morlich – with its sandy beach – and Loch an Eilein with its ruined island castle. There's nowhere else quite like the Cairngorms National Park.

Crossing over the Cairngorm Mountain's - Part 1 (Winter Solo Hiking & Camping Adventure)
I set out on a solo winter hiking and camping trip to try and cross from one side of the Cairngorm mountains to the other side while attempting to summit the second highest mountain in the UK, Ben Macdui. I will have no phone signal when I'm in the mountain so I will have to tread carefully and try my best to stay dry as when night falls the temperatures in the mountains fall to below zero and hypothermia is not my idea of fun! I'll start my wild camping adventure in Aviemore, heading through Rothiemurchus forest and to Glenmore where I will reach the edge of the mountain range. From there I hike up and into the heart of the mountains and find a rather unorthodox place to stay the night. Then I climb up and over the mountains to make my way down to the forest of Mar on the other side and out through the Mar estate to reach the end of my winter expedition in Braemar. #SubscribeToTheOutdoors

Road Trip: Scottish Highlands in Winter Snow (7 Days in Scotland)
Road Trip in the Scottish Highlands during Winter Snow in Scotland full itinerary here We arrived in mid-January during yellow and amber weather warnings when the mountains are blanketed in extremely thick snow. Our road trip through the Scottish Highlands begins with the crossing from Belfast to Cairnryan with Stenaline ( when we continue on to Loch Lomond. The snow filled road trip then begins the next day as we continue to Glen Coe through the Scottish Highlands, and from there we cross east to west with a night in Pitlochry passing Loch Tay. Then it is north to the Cairngorms and Aviemore, famous for its ski resorts, and pine forests. Onwards we travel to Loch Ness, in passing, as we continue to the Isle of Skye and the far north east corners of Scotland. Catching amazing winter and snow filled scenery along the way. From the Isle of Skye we then return to the Glen Coe area, staying at Fort William beneath the Nevis Range, Scotland's tallest mountain. Then from Fort William we exit the highlands with a night near Saint Andrews and not far from Dundee.

Cairngorm National Park, Scotland
The Cairngorm National Park is in the North East of Scotland and easily reached from Edinburgh or Glasgow. It is a massive 452 800ha National Park with 17000 people living and working there. There are huge mountains and the interior is relatively untouched as it is cut off from the roads and routes the tourists take.
There is plenty to see and do here and below I will put some of the links to help you on your way around the National Park.

Music: Written & performed by my friend John Boyd
Lyrics:
We’re starting at the end of the land, where Cornwall leaves the sea.
White hat, black pants, red top Bertha and me.
Past Penzance to St Michael’s, and Newquay’s beautiful bay.
The Camel trail and the Tarka trail and the disused rail-ia-away.
You won’t hear Wellington’s voices from the top of Glastonbury’s Tor.
But when you in Wells you’ll hear Cathederal bells, cos that’s what the music is for.
I’m ‘resting in peace’ where others lay, as Bristol’s coming under my wheel.
With the railway cars, the cables of Clifton and the sofa for the
way that you feel………………….
From the Llanthony bridge of Gloucester to Hestercombe’s pleasant lands.
Worcester’s spires, Nantwich’s fires to the Iron Bridge’s wonderful spans.
Manchester’s topiary gardens, on to Whalley Abbey as you do.
The Forest of Bowland and the circles of stone, with Penrith coming into our view.
Christ!, what was that, Bertha’s broken a spoke, Carlisle’s put a spanner in the works.
Feelin’ slightly sniffy but they fixed it in a jiffy, cos that’s serendipty’s perks.
So now we’re pushing on to the border, Caledonia awaits with open arms.
Have you ever been to Gretna Green, or felt Glaesga’s waterside
charms………………….
From the castle’s of Dumbarton and Balloch, down the cycle track to Callandar town.
Through the woods of England’s queen, as the Scottish sun keeps shining down.
The waters of Venachar and Lubnaig, making friends with a trinity of coos.
Riding through the skies of Glen Ogle, and the ghosts of a hundred choo choos.
Now we’re going on down to Killin, Castle Menzies and the Dochart Falls.
Down the shores of Loch Tay, there’s nothing in our way, till the
Scottish Crannog Centre calls.
Castle Blair in the sunshine, up to Drumochter’s high pass and summit.
Dalwhinnie’s tipple visitor centre, Ruthven Barrack’s if you don’t
want to slum it!.......................
Aviemore’s for skiing and tee’ing, Carrbridge for a jump and a splash.
Tomatin distills and will tempt you with its thrills if you offer them a little bit of cash.
Inverness Castle’s standing red, proud and strong, whilst the
Lovats are all resting in peace.
Down in the mists crossing Kessock, up to Struie’s view that never seems to cease.
The Bridges at Dornoch and Bonar, Sutherland’s wilderness awaits.
The comforts of Crask, Lairg to Tongue, this land must one of heaven’s gates.
Looking out across the River Naver, Castle of May no needs for moats.
Then I can’t believe my eyes, is it some kind of disguise,
Yes its John, its John, its John, its John, its John O’Groats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This fantastic ride from Land’s End to John o’Groats covers 1,200 miles on the National Cycle Network, broken into 28 achievable stages using on-road and traffic-free routes and taking you through some of the most picturesque landscapes in England and Scotland. Explore the Forest of Bowland, Loch Lomond and the Cairngorms on some of the best cycle paths in the UK.

Camping Tour Scotland | Loch Lommond & The Cairngorms.
Wild camping tour Scotland. Loch Lomond, Glenmore Youth Hostel and the Cairngorms.
Spent a couple of days with both my wife and daughter camping at 'Beinglas Farm Campsite', Fort William and 'Glenmore Campsite'.
Sadly my daughter took unwell on the second day so we had to pop home and she stayed with the grandparents whilst we continued the trip.
Visited the Nevis Range gondola system that was well worth the trip with some fantastic viewpoints. Watched the young guys screaming down the tracks on their mountain bikes.
However when we stayed at the Glenmore campsite it was very busy with families and kids. Lots of noise and cars left running, etc in to the evening. Now I know why we love the wild camping.
The 'WikiUp 3 performed great during some very heavy downpours but the double inner is slightly flawed in that there is no vestibule for when you open the outer flysheet. Other than that I still rate it as a very good tent and my favourite purchased so far. Still had a lot of space for two people and we were very comfortable whilst using it for out little trip.
Visited he Glenmore Youth Hostel and was fantastic for meals and the friendly staff were very welcoming. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area and looking for a quality meal.
This has just been a bit of a whistle-stop tour of some areas, but good to get away for a few days away from work. Hope you all enjoy:)

Despite their modest height, walking and climbing in the Scottish mountains may be made treacherous by their latitude and exposure to Atlantic weather systems. Even in summer, conditions can be atrocious; thick fog, strong winds, driving rain and freezing summit temperatures are commonplace. The content shown in my films are just my own opinions, thoughts and as a way to record my trips. Walking and hiking in the Scottish mountains & hills can be dangerous and is done entirely at your own risk.
Hazards you may encounter include:
Open moorland Terrain, few distinct landmarks, difficult navigation.
Crags and steep drops near summits.
Boggy areas.
River/Stream levels can increase markedly in one day.
Snow and ice on summits even in early summer.
Sudden changes in weather conditions.
Temperature decreases by 1 degree C for every 100m of ascent.
Note:
You are responsible for your own safety.
Are you fit enough to complete your chosen walk in the available time?
Ensure you have the correct clothing for the changeable Scottish weather.
Know where you are going on the walk and follow the route on your map.
At the very least carry a map & compass, survival bag, torch, whistle and small first aid kit.
Ensure you have enough food plus emergency rations.
Cold temperatures will reduce the life of your batteries.
In severe winter conditions you must carry an ice axe. You are also recommended to carry crampons.
Learn and know how to use your equipment.
