Aldeia das Caldas de Monchique - Algarve - Portugal
A Aldeia das Caldas de Monchique situa-se no concelho de Monchique, num vale da Serra de Monchique, a cerca de 7 km para sul da Vila de Monchique, junto à Estrada Nacional 266.
A existência de nascentes de água termal neste local originou o desenvolvimento da aldeia das Caldas de Monchique. Os romanos consideraram esta água sagrada devido às suas propriedades curativas e construíram um balneário onde atualmente se localizam as Termas de Monchique.
Nesta aldeia encontram-se edifícios que ostentam a arquitetura típica do final do séc. XIX e início do séc. XX; uma praça central, sombreada por árvores; um Forno de Lenha; a Fonte dos Amores; um parque de merendas, onde a natureza se manifesta de forma imponente; a Ribeira do Banho; a Ribeira do Lageado; e a Capela de Santa Teresa, que data de 1940. Esta capela foi construída com o sienito da região. Na sua fachada destaca-se um alpendre assente sobre pilares e duas colunas.
Neste local predomina o sienito, destacando-se na paisagem em grandes afloramentos rochosos.

Eine der Algarve Sehenswürdigkeiten ist Caldas de Mochique, ein ehemaliger Kurort, der heutzutage dem Tourismus zugewandt ist.
Wellness und Erholung stehen hier im Vordergrund. In diesem kleinen Ort mit den warmen Quellen ist der Grundstein der Geschichte von Monchique zu finden.
Ich möchte euch mit diesem Video diese Sehenswürdigkeit der Algarve vorstellen und auf die Gebirgsregion der Serra de Monchique einstimmen. Von hier aus könnte man auch einige Wanderungen starten.
Der Ort nimmt erst die formen einer Sehenswürdigkeit an, wenn Du die Geschichte dazu kennst. Ansonsten ist es nur eine Parkanlage.

Es geht um eine Dokumentation der Sehenswürdigkeiten in Portugal an der Algarve. Wir besuchen den Friedhof von Monchique und die allererste Kirche der Ortschaft die Igreja de São Sebastião. Dann fahren wir zum höchsten Berg der Algarve, dem Foia, hinauf so wie alle, die Monchique einen Besuch abstatten. Und zum Schluß zeige ich euch noch einen ganz besonderen Anlaufpunkt der Erholungswert hat, den Barranco dos Pisões.
