Calgary Stampede | 2020 Travel Guide ????????

The Calgary Stampede is a 10 day exhibition, rodeo and western party in the City of Calgary, Canada. Known world wide as the greatest outdoor show on earth, the Calgary Stampede is held at the beginning of July every year.

In this guide we will take a look at events at the Grandstand, which includes the Rodeo, Chuckwagon races and evening variety show. Then will visit the agricultural and art exhibits, including a visit to the Indian Village. Then it’s off to the Midway for Rides, games, food and a little partying. Finally, we’ll give you a few things you must do while visiting Calgary during stampede.

Calgary's national and international identity is tied to the event. It is known as the Stampede City, carries the informal nickname of Cowtown and the local Canadian Football League team is called the Stampeders.

The city takes on a party atmosphere during Stampede: office buildings and storefronts are painted in cowboy themes, residents don western wear and events held across the city include hundreds of pancake breakfasts and barbecues.

Calgary Stampede Parade 2019 ???? | FULL

Thousands of people donned their raincoats and plastic ponchos and stood in the rainy streets of downtown Calgary on Friday for the 2019 Stampede Parade.

The parade, which signals the official kickoff to the Calgary Stampede, featured more than 100 western-themed entries with dozens of marching bands, 32 floats and 200 horses.

Weather forced officials with the Calgary Stampede to make a few logistical changes to the staging area for the parade, but the event went ahead despite the rain.

How to do NOTHING at Calgary Stampede and still have the BEST TIME | Calgary VLOG

This year we only went to the Stampede one afternoon. We didn't get to do much but we still had a great time. We just browsed around, stuffed our bellies with food, played and won some games on Midway.
Hopefully next year when the girls are a big bigger, we can come to the Stampede and finally go to see the rodeo, races and the evening show. This year unfortunately they wouldn't have enjoyed either of those events :(
