Algonquin Fall (www.algonquinpark.on.ca)
Each year from September to November, Algonquin Provincial Park undergoes a dramatic transformation from summer to winter. With Algonquin Park’s relatively high elevation compared to surrounding areas, and thus cooler temperatures, summers are short lived. Shorter daylight length and cooler temperatures, encourage plants and animals to prepare for winter. This film showcases the spectacular scenery and wildlife associated with fall in Algonquin Park. This footage was recorded entirely within the 7,630 square kilometres (2,946 square miles) of Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada.

Pack of Wild Eastern Wolves in Algonquin Provincial Park (www.algonquinpark.on.ca)
This video shows a pack of 7 wild Eastern Wolves in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. Watch as the dominant wolf feeds upon the White-tailed Deer carcass and the other pack members interact. More dominant animals (holding their tails high when interacting) dominate subordinate pack members (holding their tails between their legs). At one point a more dominant animal pins down a subordinate wolf who relaxes until the other wolf departs. Common Ravens (the numerous birds) await their opportunity to scavenge for a meal throughout the duration of the video. This is a sight rarely recorded. Only 5 five wolves are visible at one time, but the whole pack of 7 is in the valley out of the camera's frame.

My first solo backpacking trip. 3 Day - Algonquin Park. Western Upland Trail
This was my first time going backpacking by myself. I learned a lot, and had a great time. My backpacking trip to Algonquin park has sparked a desire to explore and go backpacking at other wonderful trails in Canada!
I departed July 31st, and returned august 2nd. The temperature was 28c without humidity. The bugs were low to moderate. The water level was also roughly 5-8 inches lower than normal, The trail wasn't flooded out at all, but there were a few muddy spots.
The two sites I stayed at were, 635 - Maggie East, and 640 - Eu lake.
The entire trip was around 33km,

Calling Wolves in Algonquin Park
Well today was one of those exciting days when I decided to do something I always thought about but never tried. I took a road-trip to Algonquin Provincial Park which is found in central Ontario Canada. This 7700 sq. km. provincial park is home to many significant aquatic and terrestrial species with one of those being the wolf. The specific type of wolf is thought to be varied with some being the Eastern Wolf, Gray Wolf and Algonquin Wolf. With much hybridization of these species, the most likely type of wolf found in Algonquin Park today is the Algonquin Wolf (mix of the Eastern Wolf, Gray Wolf and Coyote). After a very interesting education program by the Chief Park Natural; Rick Stronks, watch as I follow him and atleast 1000 other visitors out to a section of the park to hopefully call out and respond to a wolf pack. Here we go!

The Survival of the Algonquin Wolf
Of the 237 threatened species in Ontario, the Algonquin wolf is the only one that can be legally hunted in parts of the province. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has come under fire for not doing enough. Ontario Hubs field producer Jeyan Jeganathan visits Algonquin Park, one of only a handful of places this keystone species calls home.

Campground Tour - Winter in The Wild, Mew Lake, Algonquin Park, 2019
Family Day weekend at Mew Lake Campground in Algonquin Park is always a good time. This year 94 campsites were occupied with 53 of them being hot tents, the largest display of hot tents in Ontario! I took some time during the weekend to go around to see as many winter setups as possible and get a tour from their owners and some information about their setups! Hope you enjoy this weeks video of the Campground Tour showing lots of different ways people like to winter camp in Algonquin Park. Thanks to everyone who participated and took the time to show me their setups.

9 years into an incredible career and I've never shared the other side of this job, the side that has my company and I dealing with Ontario Parks and all their bureaucratic nonsense and self righteous crap. Their self serving employees and their personal agendas. Today that changes.
Countless times I've been attacked and threatened by people that wear a badge and proclaim to be the keepers of all that is good. Not physical threats, no, threats to undermine my business and all I have built. Blood, sweat and tears, 18 hour days, working 365 days a year to create something special, to show the world the incredible resource that is Woodland Caribou Provincial Park. You can try and tear me down but in the end you cannot hide from the truth.
