River Rafting on the White River, Ocho Rios, August 2013
Our family of 5 ventured down the White River on inner tubes with Calypso Rafting during our day in Ocho Rios with Peat Taylor Tours. For the next 1 1/4 hours we rushed over small rapids, floated across crystal clear pools, leapt into cool spring water and swung on a rope swing while enjoying the lush, tropical greenery all around us. Our guide Raphael and his dog Spot provided an enjoyable and entertaining excursion for all of us!

Hi Cruisers, we are back with our third exciting MSC Seaside cruise vlog. It's day 3 of our Caribbean Cruise on the MSC Seaside. We give you another mini ship tour in this day 3 vlog, but that's not the most fun part. Today is a port day. That's right, it's Jamaica day! We were up bright and early on this day, and we are excited to head out for our Jamaica excursion with Pete Taylor Tours. We are going to hike waterfalls, do some river tubing, and jump ... lots of jumping. Before we leave the ship though, we have to take care of some important business. If you remember our vlog from day 2 ( ), we said we were going to register our credit card, but we forgot. This morning it's got to be done. So, we'll spend a couple of minutes on that, and then we'll be off on our adventure. The fun starts at the Blue Hole. It was so much fun, and honestly the video doesn't do it justice. If you are cruising to Jamaica, you have to check it out. We slow things done a little with some relaxing river tubing. This was a mix of relaxation and exhilaration. They break up the river tubing with a fun stop at Calypso Cove. There you can grab a drink, shop for trinkets, relax in a hammock, or just jump in the river. After tubing we stopped for an authentic Jamaican lunch at Ocho Rios Jerk Centre. It was terrific, and another highly recommended stop. Once we were back on the ship, hubby headed out to film a little more of the ship. He was able to put together another little mini ship tour that includes the Waterfront Boardwalk, the Infinity Bridge, the Sports Bar, and La Bistrot Boheme. If you are planning a cruise on MSC Seaside, you have to visit the Infinity Bridge. After a brief shopping trip we made our way to the Arcade to check out the F1 Simulator.

We had a great experience with Calypso Rafting on the white river in Ocho Rios Jamaica. The river was clear, clean and fast! Our Guide George was great and very informative. We used Chris Jamaica Tours for our transport. Our driver Pepsi was a wonderful guy. Can't wait to return!

River Rafting Excursion In Jamaica, 1950s - Film 96895
Fort Antonio on the east coast of Jamaica. A group of tourist go on a river rafting excursion, on wooden rafts made of poles, on the Rio Grande. One local man per raft pushes the rafts along using long poles while standing. Some fairly tame rapids are negotiated. A young boy wades in the river begging for money from the passing rafts.
Locals cross the river with pack mules. Children swim in the shallows as the rafts pass by.
