The trip took eight hours, slow and steady. Boarding starts at 7pm, then ship leaves by 10pm and arrives at Hakata Port before 6am. However, the Hakata Port opens at 7am, so there's a bit of waiting time. If you want a faster one, try booking with JR Beetle, but at a higher price point. (2016)

If you're looking for a cheap way to get from South Korea to Japan - Camellia Line is probably the cheapest option in the market today.
Roy noticed that it's hard to find information in English regarding the Camellia Line so he decided to book it to see for himself what's Camellia is all about.
So!
The ticket costs 4500 Yen ( 41$ ) + 10,000 Won ( 9$ )
Total of 50$ ( give or take )
Pretty cheap right?!
And also
But you gotta be prepared -
1. It's not as it's shown in pictures over the web... It's not as neat and well maintained...
2. Second class shared rooms has mattresses instead of beds, and each mattress has a cubicle-like partition for privacy.

カメリアライン「ニューかめりあ」の姿を撮るため、朝の博多港へとやってきました。
訪問早々、壱岐・郷ノ浦から九州郵船「フェリーきずな」が到着したので、早速記録に収めてみました。乗り場にはすでに九州郵船「ヴィーナス」が止まっています。
次いで志賀島から福岡市営「きんいん3」が近づいてきました。一方で国際ターミナルに目を向けると、JR九州「ビートル2世」が釜山目指して出発していきます。背後には大きな「ニューかめりあ」が止まっており、両船の大きさの差を感じることができました。
