The road to Adels Grove!
After our stay at Camooweal we trekked up to Adels Grove via the Riversleigh road. We only left Camooweal at midday, so after a few hours of driving it was time to set up camp again!
We pulled up, on top of this small hill approx 80km south of Adels Grove. The views were amazing! We watched the sunset and star gazed for hours that night. It was one of those magical spots that aren't on wiki camps!
The next day we packed up and continued the trek up to Adels. We stopped in at the Riversliegh Mammal fossil site to have lunch and a look around. ???? After a look around at the fossils & a full belly we hit the road again.
We arrived at Adels Grove that afternoon and checked in for 3 nights. We spent 2 days exploring Lawn Hill National Park and completed all the hikes. Our favourite spots in Lawn Hill would have to of been the Indarri waterfalls, wild dog dreaming track and the upper gorge lookout! Definitely paid to get up early and start the hikes before the days warmed up!
Adels Grove was also magical! Well worth a visit! Awesome fish and chips from the shack! They have tubes you can hire and just float around, an epic rope swing and some hidden gems worth exploring! We loved the fact they were dog friendly, so made traveling into Lawn Hill without rusty a breeze!
After our stay at Adels Grove we headed to Gregory Downs! We had never heard of Gregory Downs until a few fellow travelers mentioned we should definitely go, and it did not disappoint! We spent a total of 6 nights by the river at the free camp, as we loved it that much! The water ran down stream so we could float down a good 200m on our tubes!
The wildlife was amazing at Gregory, birds galore, wallabies just in the bushes behind our camp. The locals did show us a 2.5m fresh water croc which was cool to see! Gregory Downs was action packed with lots of things to keep us entertained! Kurts metal detector came in handy, when we helped a couple in distress! (separate post to come!)
Overall we had a blast at all (Adels, Lawn Hill & Gregory!) It was great being able to swim and relax around in these mini oasis.

Cania Gorge National Park
Cania Gorge National Park is located about 450 km north-west of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. Some 35km out of Monto is one of southeast Queensland's most picturesque gorges - Cania Gorge. Cania Gorge National Park boasts 3000 hectares of spectacular landscape, prominent sandstone cliffs, caves, eucalypt forest and dry rain forest with mosses, orchids, figs and vines growing in moist, sheltered areas. This secluded area is home to a variety of Australia's native flora and fauna including kangaroos, rock wallabies, and over 100 species of birds.
Lake Cania is the ideal spot to view the unspoilt beauty of the awesome sculpted sandstone rock formations, such as Castle Mountain and the overhanging cliffs that form the escarpment of Cania Gorge. The lake has been well stocked with Australian Bass, Yellowbelly, Silver Perch and the highly-prized Saratoga.
At Cania Gorge Caravan & Tourist Park, we have built our reputation on providing a holiday experience that is truly memorable ... fun, friendly, relaxed and welcoming. with the very best standard of accommodation and facilities. A delightful park in a peaceful, rural bush setting abundant with native wildlife and birds. Wallabies and kangaroos roam around the park until late afternoon and in the evenings the very cute and shy bettongs, brushtailed possums and sugargliders come out to feed and play. Introduce the kids to some of Australia's most colourful birds and watch their faces light up as a king parrot or kookaburra land on their hand during the afternoon bird feeding.

Basin Aboriginal Art Site, Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park
Basin Aboriginal art site is one of the best examples of rock engravings by the Garrigal people of the Guringai Nation, this significant site is best viewed early morning or late afternoon, when the shadows give an edge to the faint, yet impressive engravings. This Aboriginal Art site in the Ku-Ring-Gai National Park just north of Sydney, has a number of beautiful and enigmatic engravings of people, kangaroos, fish, and symbols. To the North are a group of a man and three women. The man has a fish touching one hand, and a crescent touching the other. It is not clear whether the crescent is a moon or a boomerang. The woman standing next to the man is an adult, with breasts beneathe her ampits, while the other two women appear to be young girls without breasts.
Nearby is a man or a turtle containing a fish, together with another man.
To the South are a man and a woman reaching up towards a crescent, which may either be a boomerang or a moon. Note how the woman stands behind the man and is partly obscured by him, rather than overlapping him.
Nearby is a hermaphrodite figure, and a beautiful mob of kangaroos or wallabies in full flight. It has been claimed that these represent the cluster of stars known as the Pleiades or Seven Sisters, although it is unclear upon what this claim is based.

The LARGEST RODEO in the southern hemisphere - Mt Isa - Ep.17 - Outback Road Trip
Our first Rodeo and its the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere. We had a blast with our front row tickets, we got some amazing pictures and footage. One of our highlights was Busby Marou playing some unreal live music.
After the rodeo we set off to Camooweal were we had heard they have big red claw, and Kurt was keen to try and catch some! We met up with some of our neighbors from Corella Dam there and had a great 3 nights. We also visited one of the nearby caves in Camooweal which was pretty cool. Only a short walk from the carpark too!
