It is situated in Ahmedabad Cantonment area in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.[1] This temple was established by Pandit Gajanan Prasad around 100 years ago.[original research?]
Pandit Dwarka Prasad was the Chief Mahant of this temple. The Pandit family acts as the managing trustee for this temple.[2]

In jedem Ramatempel befindet sich auch eine Statue von Hanuman. Sein wichtigster Feiertag ist Hanuman Jayanti, das als sein Geburtstag gilt und nach dem hinduistischen Mondkalender im März/April gefeiert wird. Viele Gläubige besuchen einen Tempel und bestreichen sein Bildnis mit roter Pulverfarbe, Sindur, und schmücken es mit Blüten. Man singt die populäre Hymne Hanuman Chalisa und liest dem Publikum Geschichten aus dem Ramayana vor.

Dans l'Hindouisme moderne, c'est un dieu très populaire.
Hanumân est le dieu-singe, patron des lutteurs, dieu de la sagesse. Il est souvent représenté avec une massue.
Une caractéristique d'Hanumân est sa fidélité complète et permanente à Rama, son Maître spirituel. Sa vie entière, ses actions, ses jours et ses nuits sont consacrés à servir son Maître. En un mot, Hanumân est l'image du parfait disciple. Après la victoire, Rama voulut récompenser Hanumân. Celui-ci refusa, trop heureux d'avoir été le champion de l'amour et de la justice. Cette noblesse est aujourd'hui encore illustrée par le proverbe hindou: les singes pleurent sur les autres, jamais sur eux-mêmes.
À l'origine Hanumân était le gardien des propriétés et tout fondateur d'un nouveau village se devait d'ériger sa statue.
Les singes hanumân (grandes mâchoires) seraient ses descendants. Ils sont respectés et protégés par les populations hindoues, malgré les nombreux saccages qu'ils commettent. Ils sont, après la vache et le serpent, les animaux les plus sacrés.
