METEOR CRATOR | Back In Ontario, Canada
Hi! My name is John and welcome to Blackline Chronicles!
Embracing an alternative lifestyle in a truck camper allows me to experience life like I never have before. Visiting new places, seeking out adventure, tapping into the RV lifestyle, meeting people I would have otherwise never met and finding lakeside campsites along the way is what you should expect to find on the Blackline (A.K.A. the road).
Welcome to one of twenty-six known meteor crater sites in all of Canada! In this video, I visit West Hawk Lake before I cross the border back into the province of Ontario. This campground is located in Whiteshell Provincial Park and while the crystal clear water looks like any other beautiful lake, this lake is actually a crater comprised of mostly granite due to the ancient rock bed that was formed by a meteor over one hundred million years ago.
The Ontario Funzones travel booklet is a great resource if you're in Ontario, Canada, or planning on traveling here in the future. You will find 150 outdoor destinations all over Ontario that include waterfalls, hiking trails, escarpments, scenic cliffs, etc. Click the link below to head over to my website where you can access this booklet now!

Albertosaurus at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller
Fossils of an Edmontosaurus and an Albertosaurus were found while city workers were hand-tunneling in an Edmonton sewer tunnel.
According the Royal Tyrrell Museum's website: Albertosaurus was the top predator of its time, and was a close relative of Tyrannosaurus rex, who lived a few million years later. The first Albertosaurus was discovered by Joseph B. Tyrrell, a young geologist who was searching for coal seams in the Red Deer River valley in 1884. It is now the most common of the large carnivores found in Alberta.
