Avro Lancaster returns home to Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum 2014 Sept 28
Welcome Home!!!
After leaving August 5 and flying an epic trans-Atlantic voyage to the UK for an extensive tour of air shows and memorial tributes, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Andrew Mynarski Memorial Avro Lancaster Bomber and crew returned home to a large welcoming
crowd in Mount Hope (Hamilton), Ontario on September 28, 2014.
Out of 7,337 Avro Lancasters built, only two in the world (this one and its British cousin Thumper) remain in flying condition.
An outstanding tribute to those who served!!! Well done!!!

Description
Canadian Heritage Warplane Museum 2010
Our trip to the Canadian Heritage Warplane Museum in Mount Hope, Ontario (near Hamilton) on May 31, 2010. Dad was an airplane mechanic before WWII and worked in Alberta on Tiger Moths and similar planes used to train pilots. He recognized most of the planes at the museum.
Airplanes, Men & Memories
Originally filmed on 16 mm in the mid-70s, this documentary captures the early years of the renowned Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at Hamilton in Mount Hope, Ontario. Included are interviews and commentary by Museum co-founders Dennis Bradley, Alan Ness and John Weir as well as several Museum volunteers/members. Aircraft featured under restoration to flying condition include the North American Yale, Avro Anson, de Havilland Tiger Moth, Supermarine Seafire and Westland Lysander. The latest acquisition, a North American B-25 Mitchell, is shown having its executive interior removed shortly after it arrived at the Museum. Rare air-to-air coverage of the Museum's Goldilocks Harvard formation team, Goodyear Corsair and original Fairey Firefly are definite highlights of this film.
