YE OLDE TRIP TO JERUSALEM - The Oldest Inn in England - 3D Tour
Built from our 3D tour of the oldest pub in England, in Nottingham. The pub is famous for its caves, carved out of the soft sandstone rock against which the building is set. The larger ground level caverns are now used as the pub’s rear drinking rooms. There is also a network of caves beneath the building, originally used as a brewery. They seem to date from around the time of the construction of the castle (1068 AD).

Rail Ale Trip to Nottingham
The latest outing by the Lincoln Rail Ale Club took them to Nottingham:
1 From the train station, head towards the City Centre, turn left on to Canal Street where you will find 'The Canal House'. Has an offering of fine selection of guest ales. Has a canal running through the middle of it.
Arr pub 12-45 and lunch
2 Take a walk up in to the Lace Market, to the 'Kean's Head' at 46 St Mary's Gate, NG1 1QA. The pub is tucked out of the way, at the side of St Mary's Church. The usual selection of Castle Rock Beers and guests are available here. The food is very good too.
Arrive 2pm
3 'The Cross Keys' at 15 Byard Lane, NG1 2JG has recently benefited from a major refurbishment. It offers a range of real ales (many from the Nottingham-based 'Navigation Brewery') in pleasant surroundings.
Arrive 2-45pm
4 'The Malt Cross' at 16 St James's Street, Nottingham, NG1 6FG was built in 1877 and is one of the few remaining Victorian Music Halls still standing. Its original purpose is still very much apparent. Pub offers a range of well selected, well kept cask ales. The 'Music Hall Bitter', made exclusively for the pub by Brewster's Brewery of Grantham is always very well kept and very popular.
Arrive 3-30pm
5 On the other side of Maid Marian Way you will find 'The Round House' at Royal Standard Place,Nottingham, NG1 6FS. Focuses on quality food and drink in comfortable surroundings.
Arrive 4-15pm
6 Walk down the hill and at the bottom of Castle Road you will find perhaps the most famous pub inNottingham: 'Ye Olde trip to Jerusalem'. Supposedly the oldest inn in England, there has been a pub on this site for the last 800 years. The pub is built in to the sandstone caves beneathNottingham Castle. The pub is now owned by Greene King so the Hardy and Hanson's 'Trip to Jerusalem' ale served in the pub is actually brewed by Greene King in Suffolk and is a local beer in name only.
Arrive 5-15pm
7 The final stop is Castle Rock's brewery tap -- 'The Vat and Fiddle' at Queens Bridge Road, . NG2 1NB The pub is mere yards away from the brewery and is a couple of minutes walk away from the train station. There are usually 12 hand-pulled ales available.
