Huge waves hit Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands
Huge waves have been filmed smashing into Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands.
Reaching heights of 20ft (6m), they battered homes, hotels and restaurants.
Dozens of people were evacuated from affected areas but no-one was injured, Spanish authorities say.

BEACHES
The Canary Islands offer you an endless choice of beaches where you can enjoy all kinds of activities: relaxing while you laze on a sun lounger, doing all kinds of sports , having a hassle-free day out with the family, playing and building sandcastles with children, walking in the dunes, enjoying the untouched natural environment...
The pleasant temperatures, clear skies and more than 3,000 hours of sunshine a year confirm that the Islands have the world’s best climate for enjoying the beach at any time of year. The volcanic origin of the Canary Islands has given rise to a huge variety of landscapes. You’ll find plenty to choose from, depending on what you’re looking for and what you need:
Must-see beaches: These beaches are very popular because of their delightful scenery and great conditions for swimming. Many of them include a good range of additional services. Take your pick
Beaches for families: Enjoying some quiet play time on the sand with your children and splashing about in the water won’t be a problem here, as all the islands have great beaches for a family day out. The beaches we recommend have easy access and all kinds of services (toilets, food outlets, lifeguards) for the comfort of both adults and children. Take your pick
Beaches for doing sport: Riding the waves on a board or discovering the sea floors around the Islands are a couple of options to make your holidays a different kind of experience. You’ll find a range of sports to choose from: windsurfing, diving, kitesurfing, surfing, bodyboarding, sailing, paddleboarding… Take your pick
Untouched beaches: These beaches are unspoilt natural spots where you can enjoy the peace and beauty of the scenery and switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you’re into nude sunbathing, you’ll find locations in the Canary Islands where your whole body can be caressed by the sun, either at deserted beaches or in specially designated areas at more popular beaches. Take your pick.

Máspalomas - Gran Canaria - Canary Islands: Home of gorgeous dunes and a lighthouse
Spending a couple hours with the stunning view of the dunes and the iconic lighthouse is probably the best activity you can do on Gran Canaria. Máspalomas is located on the very southern edge of the island and therefore has (almost) always has amazing weather.
Hope you enjoyed this brief look at the Canary Islands, we will be posting more very soon!

The Canary Islands are not the first place you think of when going on vacation. It's rare to see individuals speaking English here. But with it's natural diversity and densest area of micro climates, the Spanish Canary Islands are really a hidden gem. From Sahara like dunes, to vast mountains, the Canary islands are as beautiful as hidden. Come visit! This time we return to the Canary islands for a second round around the island. There is so much to see it's easy not to return. The Canarias are a Spanish archipelago located just off the southern coast of Morocco, 100 kilometres (62 miles) west of its southern border. The Canaries constitute one of Spain's 17 autonomous communities and are among the outermost regions (OMR) of the European Union proper. The main islands are (from largest to smallest) Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. The archipelago also includes a number of islands and islets: La Graciosa, Alegranza, Isla de Lobos, Montaña Clara, Roque del Oeste and Roque del Este. In ancient times, the island chain was often referred to as the Fortunate Isles.[7]
The archipelago's beaches, climate and important natural attractions, especially Maspalomas in Gran Canaria and Teide National Park and Mount Teide (a World Heritage Site) in Tenerife (the third tallest volcano in the world measured from its base on the ocean floor), make it a major tourist destination with over 12 million visitors per year, especially Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.[8][9] The islands have a subtropical climate, with long warm summers and moderately warm winters.[10] The precipitation levels and the level of maritime moderation varies depending on location and elevation. Green areas as well as desert exist on the archipelago. Due to their location above the temperature inversion layer, the high mountains of these islands are ideal for astronomical observation. For this reason, two professional observatories, Teide Observatory on the island of Tenerife and Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on the island of La Palma, have been built on the islands.
The capital of the Autonomous Community is shared by the rival cities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria,[11][12] which in turn are the capitals of the provinces of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Province of Las Palmas. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been the largest city in the Canaries since 1768, except for a brief period in the 1910s.[13] Between the 1833 territorial division of Spain and 1927 Santa Cruz de Tenerife was the sole capital of the Canary Islands. In 1927 a decree ordered that the capital of the Canary Islands be shared, as it remains at present.[14][15] The third largest city of the Canary Islands is San Cristóbal de La Laguna (a World Heritage Site) on Tenerife.[16][17][18] This city is also home to the Consejo Consultivo de Canarias, which is the supreme consultative body of the Canary Islands.

We Love Canarias is a Holiday Video Magazine.
We make videos about the Canary Islands. About sightseeing, excursions and city tours, about hiking tours and routes, about nature, culture and recreation. We film in 4K without any post-processing or filters. We try to present the islands as they really are, the islands of eternal spring, located in the Atlantic Ocean. A piece of Europe in Africa.
At the moment we are filming in Gran Canaria. There are already videos about Las Palmas, Playa del Ingles, San Agustin, About the dunes of Maspalomas, from Meloneras, Puerto Rico, Arguineguin, Puerto de Mogan. About the beautiful beaches of the island. And many more will follow.
