Inside the forests of Lolegaon, West Bengal. Nice and alone.. Wonderful place to pursue SILENCE...

Lolegaon Tour || Hanging Bridge || Canopy Walkway || Darjeeling || Mon Ja Chai

Hanging Bridge or canopy walkway is located in Lolegaon, a tiny hill side tourist destination near Kalimpong. It is basically a foot over bridge over the vast canopy of trees on either sides.

The bridge extends for over 180 metres, providing a glimpse of the forest from an elevation. While taking a walk over the bridge, one can see the dense forest covered with soaring oak, fir and cypress trees.

One needs to be careful as the walkway swings continuously with occasional planks that are broken and slippery. The place is to be avoided during monsoon season as the area is full of leeches.

Crossing the bridge leads to a small village called Kafer – a Lepcha village which provides a panoramic view of the majestic Kanchenjunga. Nearby places includes Lava, Kalimpong which offers great attractions for tourists.

Canopy Walk through Neora Valley Forest at Loley Gaon

Loley Gaon or Lolegaon is a small hamlet within Neora Valley National Park. It offers a mesmerizing panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586 metres) on clear days. There is a 0.5 metre suspension bridge through the forest where five persons are allowed to walk at a time. The wooden bridge is not very strong, but the view is spectacular. Timings are from 10 am - 5 pm and the ticket cost is Rs 25 per person. A walk through the canopy is a must for all nature lovers.
