Camel Racing
Camel Racing at Towac Park Racecourse located in Orange, New South Wales Australia. The event was held 27/03/2016 to raise money for Camp Quality, a charity that helps children living with cancer. Over $10,000 AUD was raised from entry to the races alone, not counting the money raised from the stalls and raffle.
It was a great day out. A very different type of 'day at the races'. It was my first time attending this event and I left quite happy. The camels were not harmed in any way shape or form.
The event was 100% for charity and not profit, though the winning camels did get a prize but I am not sure how much it was, the sponsors of the race day supplied that it didn't come out of what was raised for Camp Quality.

Birdsville Cemetery Queensland Australia
Birdsville Cemetery Queensland Australia
Despite visiting far-flung places, and travelling long distances, we still make time to check out memorials and graves in some remote communities.
Birdsville has a small cemetery which was in need of much TLC when we visited. There are stones for early European settlers as well as some memorials to members of the local Aboriginal community. I am not sure of the cultural correctness of publishing these transcriptions and our local Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place was unable to advise me. If you think they should be removed then please let me know.

They had a nice beginning to their Summer in Sydney, rain that sent down three inches in an hour. It was the wettest November onslaught that Sydney people can remember. In fact, it was an absolute wash-out!
