Don Garnier Interview
Don was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He campaigned in Italy, Holland and Germany. Don enjoyed sharing his experiences from World War II and would have been happy to know his stories are still being heard even after his passing.
This interview was filmed in 2009 with questions submitted by students.

Guard at Government House / Garde à la Résidence du lieutenant-gouverneur
For the month of July, Army Reserve soldiers from The Princess Louise Fusiliers, The Cape Breton Highlanders, 1st Battalion The Nova Scotia Highlanders (North), have stood guard at Government House, the residence of the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, from Friday through Monday. We followed them from weapons draw at 9:00 am to the opening of the Lieutenant Governor's residence to the public at 11:00 am.
Pendant le mois de juillet, les soldats de la Réserve de l'Armée canadienne du Princess Louise Fusiliers, du Cape Breton Highlanders et du 1er Bataillon, The Nova Scotia Highlanders (North), ont monté la garde à la Résidence du lieutenant-gouverneur de Nouvelle Écosse, du vendredi au lundi. Nous les avons suivi depuis la distribution des armes à 9 h, jusqu'à l'ouverture au public de la résidence du lieutenant-gouverneur à 11 h.
