The Civil War Trail
On March 11, 1865, General Sherman's troops marched in to Fayetteville, and the mayor formally surrendered the town. Headquartered in Fayetteville for 3 days, the Union forces burned several important structures including textile mills and The Fayetteville Observer. On the last day, Sherman gave orders for the Fayetteville Arsenal to be razed, destroying the last source of military arms for the Confederacy. After the war, stones from the ruins of the Fayetteville Arsenal were used in rebuilding a number of new Post-Civil War structures. The foundation of the Arsenal remains and can be seen at the Museum of the Cape Fear.

Fishing the Cape Fear River Summer
Hi I'm Captain Rob Thompson an ex fishing guide that moved to the Southport region. I will take you along with me on an average summer day fishing the lower Cape Fear River. I don't give up major spots but very generally show you what does or does not work. Since I am new here this fishery is fresh to me as well. In this episode I focus on soft plastic gulps and walking topwater lures. If you have any questions or comments always ask and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE if you like what you watched.
Thanks again!!!

All American Trail (Fort Bragg, NC)
The All American Trail is in the Carolina Sandhills region of North Carolina near Fort Bragg. This public-use trail runs east-west for about 12 miles through some rugged hilly and sandy terrain. This area of North Carolina is very unique, geologically. Tall pines dominate the landscape and with all of the sand, you might wonder why the ocean is still a hundred miles away from here. On this day we ride about 4 miles to and from the Rockfish Creek boardwalk from the Plank Rd. trailhead. The trail is more suitable for mountain bikes, but hybrids will work. The temperature was in the mid 70s on this day. Filmed on January 14, 2013 in 1080p. For more information on this trail visit:
