Cape Foulweather
Recorded June 12, 2019
The first part of the video was shot at the Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint just south of Cape Foulweather. Cape Foulweather is a basalt outcropping 500 feet above the Pacific Ocean on the central coastline of Oregon. The last part of the video was shot at the Ben Jones Bridge Viewpoint. The bridge has the stunning Conde McCullogh-designed construction and was built in 1927.

Cape Foulweather
On the way back from Pacific City to Newport, I took a little 4 mile or so side trip off Rt. 101. It was called the Otter Crest Loop and it is one way - South. It is a narrow windy road that is one way and goes right along the coast and at the end is Cape Foulweather lookout. It's very cool. It was really nice out. In the video, in the center near the end is Devils Punch Bowl (another video) and then just beyond that is where I stayed - Beverly Beach State Park. This is a great video showing the general area of where i stayed from high up at Cape Foulweather.

Each State, Each Town & City in America has the RIGHT to not allow Air-Traffic over their State, Town or City.
I understand, that some Air-Traffic is needed for Commercial Jets but, in Central Oregon, we DO NOT have Air-Traffic. If the UN Jets want to Fly Back & Forth....go right ahead!
All we are asking is that you move your Operations 15 miles to the East! That is our Desert.
Pretty Damn Simple Request, if you ask me!
As demonstrated in the United States in the past, anthrax spores are easily sent through the mail to targets. As well, the powdery spores can be released from an aircraft. Over a major urban center, modeling studies have indicated that the resulting casualties could number in the hundreds of thousands.
Contamination of water by pathogens is another insidious route of disease spread. Water can look crystal clear despite the presence of millions of bacteria in each milliliter. Viruses, which are much smaller, can be present in even higher numbers without affecting the appearance of the liquid. Thus, water can be easily laced with enough pathogens to cause illness.
Have you ever heard of the U.S. Human Genome Project or the International Human Genome Project ? The project began in 1990 and was initially headed by Ari Patrinos, head of the Office of Biological and Environmental Research in the U.S. Department of Energy

Cape Perpetua Scenic Area
Recorded June 12, 2019
Cape Perpetua is a large forested headland projecting into the Pacific Ocean on the central Oregon Coast. It is part of the Siuslaw National Forest. It is a typical Pacific Northwest headland, forming a high steep bluff above the ocean. At its highest point, Cape Perpetua rises to over 800 feet above the sea. Along the Cape Perpetua coastline, there are several unique features. The Spouting Horn at Cook's Chasm and Thor's Well on the plateau nearby are both salt water fountains driven by the power of the ocean tide. The Devil's Churn is a long crack in the coastal rock that fills with each ocean wave, occasionally exploding as incoming and outgoing waves collide.

Grant's Getaways: EV Pacific Coast Scenic Byway
I love the kind of travel that puts me in touch with the many faces of Oregon adventure, so when the summertime mood to move strikes, I like to migrate to the Oregon coast. There’s no finer way to explore it than the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway.
But on this trip my mode of travel has switched: I’ve traded in my gas-powered Jeep for an All-Electric Nissan Leaf.

Grant's Getaways: Beach Safety
When spring-time arrives, many folks head for the Oregon coast where there's plenty of elbow room to stretch out and play. But this season there are sobering reminders that staying safe while having fun on the sand requires caution, knowledge and awareness.
