Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope
On the road to the Cape of Good Hope - through wonderful Fynbos nature - with flashy white Edmondia straw flowers. Ostriches at the sea - a frequent sight. Sometimes they wish to cross the road - causing a little traffic jam. The Cape of Good Hope is often crowded. And everybody wants to be on the photo.
A bit further to the south-east lies the second tip: Cape Point. The funicular starts at the restaurant and drives uphill to the old lighthouse. Though it's more invigorating to walk up the mountain.
Once arrived one is rewarded with magic panoramic views. In the east lies the Indian Ocean, in the west the Atlantic and in the North the Cape Peninsula between the seas - and to the south the rugged tip of the African continent.
