Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia - Cape Smokey
The hike that begins in Cape Smokey Provincial Park and ends facing Ingonish Bay is exceptionally scenic. Numerous lookoffs provide views facing south into St. Ann's Bay, north into Ingonish Bay, and east into the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear day the ferries to Newfoundland cruise slowly beneath Cape Smokey's high cliffs.
A complete route description can be found in Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia, 9th edition.

Oxner Beach, Lower LaHave, Nova Scotia
Oxner's Beach is one of the most beautiful beach in Nova Scotia and once part of the first Acadian Capital of LaHave (1632-1635) and Fort Sainte-Marie de-Grace, now known as Fort Point. Oxner's Beach, then known as La Vacherie and was used as farm lands. The hills lining the river once help 24 canons to protect the river enterance. The river now splits the communities of Riverport and LaHave which are connected by the Brady Himmelman ferry.
