This elegant double storey four bedroom Edwardian villa set amongst a flat tranquil garden setting, so close to the heart of our capital city.
Double garaging and exterior facade at street level gives little away - a floating tiled path beckons visitors to the impressive entrance past a fragrant garden that imbues the senses.
Breath-taking leadlight windows and character staircase are a feature of the welcoming foyer. The two immediate reception rooms offer different moods - the 'day room ' with feature bay window has interconnecting sliding doors opening into the larger handsome afternoon/evening room with an elegant seating bay window that looks directly out to the picturesque garden. A natural flow from this space leads out to a decked area with built-in seating, BBQ space and that flat lawn with romantic gazebo.
Cosy gas central heating gives instant gratification with a feature wood burner in the formal room to add additional atmosphere.
The separate formal dining area is closely positioned beside the Barbara Webster designed kitchen and funky family space featuring multiple skylights that literally bring the sun and sky into the room, designed especially for star gazing and moon bathing.
A separate wine cellar for those so inclined is hidden away for discovery or super extra storage for the family. Mind you, there's the massive attic with pull down stairs for that too.
Loved and cherished, this extensively remodelled villa conjures up a magical mix of traditional and contemporary architecture.
Now it's your turn... to experience that momentary breathlessness... of love at first sight.
Cape Winelands tours & holiday packages
Beautiful, winding roads connect the winelands and towns of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Wellington – and all an easy hour's drive from Cape Town. A myriad wine farms colour the area with sloping vineyards and almost every farm has a tasting room where travellers can enjoy a visit into the world of top-class South African wine production.
Some farms invite visitors on cellar tours for a closer look at the route taken by the grapes from vine to bottle. Others have restaurants or offer pairings of delicious, locally made cheeses and charcuterie, or even chocolate, to accompany the wines, bringing to the fore the different notes in each cultivar.
