Cape Wrath- The remotest place on the British Mainland,
Scotland's most north westerly point can be reached by a bus journey of about 11 miles through wild unspoiled scenery.
Some of Britain's highest cliffs, seabirds, wildlife, seals and the spectacular Cape Wrath Lighthouse can be experienced here.
The Ozone Café - the most remote café in mainland Britain is located here.
Slight delays can be expected at peak times and during MOD exercises.

Cape Wrath and Durness Cycling
Photos taken by myself on a recent cycling trip up to Cape Wrath in Scotland. Most of the shots are taken when we'd stopped cycling. Durness beach, then onto Kearvaig beach and back over to Durness. Atlantic Ocean shots, golden beaches, Mountain Bothys and Random Wellies feature :). ELP is deliberately missing the H ;-)
Music is a couple of Mike Oldfield tracks that I rather like.
Going full screen will cause some softening of the pics.

North West Scotland by Drone - Sandwood Bay, Cape Wrath and Durness
4k Version -
Niall and I spent a few days walking up through Sandwood Bay to Cape Wrath, wild camping and overnighting in a couple of bothies, finishing in Durness. I captured some of the epic scenery found along the way.
This is my first stab at drone videography. It's a new hobby for me and it was fun to put what I have learned so far into a real project. Still lots to perfect, though!

Cape Wrath Overnighter
We take the ferry to Cape Wrath, ride to the Lighthouse and spend the night at the lovely Kearvaig Bothy.
Cape Wrath
Remote Cape Wrath features in the shipping forecast, that incomprehensible mantra that lulls many a Briton to sleep. It was, therefore, fascinating travel up to the famous cape, though when we got there we were slightly disappointed. The day was hazy and the views suffered in consequence. The lighthouse was unspectacular, only the wildness of the location made the trip worth while.

The Road to Cape Wrath
Well, actually, it's the road *from* Cape Wrath. The weather as we drove towards the famous cape was simply terrible, but by the time we had spent an hour there the sky had cleared, the sun was shining and I filmed most of the trip, so this film is just excerpts from the hour-long journey.
Mind you, nothing had improved the road, which is simply terrible. I don't think the driver got out of second gear once in the twelve miles except for a short stretch of a couple of hundred yards when he ventured into third and our spines paid the penalty of his indecent haste!
Oh, and the ferry across to the start of the road is nothing more than a small motor boat. Not a trip for the faint-hearted.
Cape Wrath Tour with Stag Surprise
We were just going for a wee visit to Cape Wrath when this happened, a Stag caught in some wire left by the defence dept. Glad we did not have to use the rifle!
