This video # 5 of our Canada tour 2003 shows our visit in the capital of Canada - Ottawa - and its neighbour Gatineau (you can reach the town crossing the river Ottawa by Alexander bridge) and last not least the northern part of the state New York in the U. S. A., situated at the St. Lawrence Seaway. We arrived there on 28th of June.
Here near Ogdensburg in the area of Thousand Islands, straight at the bank in Fairview Manor, we had an excellent dinner and at the same time the most spectacular sunset - we were all one - we ever had.

Toronto celebrates Canada Day
July 1 is Canada’s birthday. Tons of people gathered in Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto to celebrate this traditional, multicultural party. While emphasizing the exchange of cultures and backgrounds, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also encouraged Canadians to continue to support each other to make the country better.

June 2003 Canada part 1 - Niagara Falls and CN Tower Toronto
This is the first part of our magnificent journey to Canada with a visit to the Niagara Falls and the provincial capital, Toronto. We have had so many great and exciting moments and warm encounters with friends in this country that we never want to do without it again.
Of course we had to pay Toronto's main attraction the CN Tower (Canadian National Tower) located in downtown Toronto a visit. Completed in 1975, it became the world's tallest free-standing structure. Since then the tower has added more distinctions and is proud to remain the world's tallest tower according to the 2010 Book of Guinness World Records. As the top at 555.30 meters is not accessible except flying we had to make do with the view from the viewing platform at 342 meters. But even from here we had a breath-taking view over the city, Lake Ontario and vast parts of the province.
Since April 2008 the world's tallest building is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai with a height of 828 meters. It has the most as well as the highest situated usable storeys (Wikipedia).

Thousands gather on Parliament Hill to celebrate Canada Day
More than 10,000 people gathered on Parliament Hill on Monday to celebrate the country’s 152nd birthday.
Ottawa police said roughly 11,500 people were at the main site of the festivities as of noon, which was when the first of several planned performances got underway with artists including K’Naan, Shawnee, T. Thomason and Karim Oullet. That was an increase over the crowds in 2018, when a scorching heat wave dropped the attendance numbers down to roughly 6,000.
Among those taking in the celebrations was Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, who had a seat just behind Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family near the stage where hosts Ashley Callingbull, a First Nations activist and model, and Quebec media personality Herby Moreau introduced the noon show guests.

Canada 2009 - Niagara Falls & Toronto
Zondag 25 oktober
Ik antwoord: 'The U.S.A.' De vrouw in het loketje zegt daarop bits: 'The U.S. is a big place.'
Omdat we anders veel te vroeg aankomen, rijden we nog even langs Niagara On The Lake en Mississauga.

le « Fer à Cheval » (Horseshoe Falls) ou chutes canadiennes ;
les « chutes américaines » (American Falls) ;
