Camel caravan in Jaisalmer's Thar desert
The Thar Desert is a large, arid region in the northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent and forms a natural boundary running along the border between India and Pakistan. With an area of more than 200,000 km2 (77,000 sq mi), within the Indian state of Rajasthan, covering the districts of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur, and some region of the states of Punjab, Haryana and Gujarat. it is the world's 18th largest subtropical desert.
har Desert extends from the Sutlej River, surrounded by the Aravalli Ranges on the east, on the south by the salt marsh known as the Great Rann of Kutch (parts of which are sometimes included in the Thar), and on the west by the Indus River. Its boundary to the large thorny steppe to the north is ill-defined. It lies mostly in the Indian state of Rajasthan, and extends into the southern portion of Haryana and Punjab states and into northern Gujarat state.
In Pakistan, the desert covers eastern Sindh Province and the southeastern portion of Punjab Province, where it joins the Cholistan Desert near Bahawalpur. The Tharparkar District is one of the major parts of the desert area. Tharparkar consists of two words: Thar means 'desert' while Parkar stands for 'the other side'.

Jeep Safari in Jaisalmer with Sagorika Banerji
The most convenient way to see the desert around is through jeep safari tours in Jaisalmer. Most of the jeep safaris last for about an hour or two and then you can camp in the desert. Deserts can be as cold at night as they are hot and dry during the day. The thrilling jeep safari will give you an impression of the middle east, and Jaisalmer is a place for amazing sightseeing of the Jaisalmer fort and other architectural and old buildings in the city. Jeep safaris in Jaisalmer are fun because of the texture of the sand here, which is golden and white. At sunset, ride on your jeep and go deep into the Thar desert, where you can see the sunset over the desert and the sands sparkling and giving the impression of melting gold.

Music of Rajasthan originates from Rajasthan, one of the states of India and home to several important centers of Indian musical development, including Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaipur. The region's music shares similarities both with nearby areas of India and the other side of the border, in the Pakistani province of Sindh.A classic example of Rajasthani golf music is 'Dholi taaro' song from Bollywood classic Hum Dili de Chuke Sanam.
Join a camel caravan at Jaisalmer on your Rajasthan tours and ride along the breathtaking crests and troughs. Enjoy the romance of solitude as your camel takes you deep in the hearts of the Thar Desert. Put yourself in the camp and experience the sun setting behind the horizon. A Road Trip from Delhi to Jaisalmer | Explore India
Travelling leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. My travel story runs from the streets of delhi to the deserts of jaisalmer via ajmer highway. It is an irresistible desire to travel to the unknown territories and explore the unexplored lands of india. My travel journey unfolds as i started my road trip from delhi to the heart of rajasthan - jaipur. The city is governed by it's exquisite architecture and amazing food. After traveling for 12 hours we reached to our main destination- jaisalmer.
The town stands on a ridge of a yellowish sandstone crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate jain temples. It lies in the heart of the thar desert. Jaisalmer means the fort of jaisal and its sometimes called the golden city of india. The major tourist attractions are desert safari, jeep safari, jain heritage and forts of jaisalmer. To reach to sam we took help of navigation and maps.
We drove our honda city from the mainland of jaisalmer to the place called sam. Sam sand dunes is 45 kms away from jaisalmer city, but surprisingly it takes less than 30 minutes to reach there. After going up and down on the sand dunes, evening time is the perfect time to sit and enjoy Rajasthani folk songs, dance and play various games. At sam one can enjoy camel and jeep ride, desert safari, tour, paragliding, gypsy camp with an amazing view of sunset. The suitable weather to travel to rajasthan is july to November. The final destination was the dargah in ajmer, to end my travel journey by seeking the blessings of god. Travel vlog has always been my passion and i do it passionately.

PART-1 ROAD TRIP FROM DELHI TO JAISALMER-an amazing journey to one end of India.
We had a road trip from delhi to jaisalmer in the month of September. There are alternate routes also available but we took the route via jodhpur -pokharan -jaisalmer. Road conditions were very good except few bad patches which didn't feel much on our Renault pulse.
