Barbados' Champers: Seaside Dining on the South Coast
takes you to Champers Wine Bar & Restaurant on Barbados' south coast overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
Champers has been a favorite of both locals and visitors to Barbados for 14 years. The signature dish is Parmesan-encrusted barracuda, locally caught, but the seared Yellow Fin tuna, roasted pepper-crusted pork tenderloin with sweet potato croquette, and other dishes are also delicious. My favorite lunch at Champers is a beautifully fresh salad topped with poached Atlantic salmon.
Open for lunch and dinner except Sunday.
Call ahead for reservations: (246) 434-3463
Located at Skeetes Hill at the south end of Accra Beach, in Christ Church, just off Hwy 7.

Worthing Beach
The sandy white beach at Worthing is filled with palm trees, and leads down to calm, turquoise lagoon. A coral reef is visible at low tide and submerged at high tide and allows for excellent, calm waters throughout the day.
There is also a restaurant right on the water, so if you don't want to leave Worthing Beach at all, it's worth a try. There are an assortment of dining options in Barbados, but you don't have to eat every meal in a formal setting. Many vacationers simply sit on their towels——not in a restaurant——to enjoy lunch. So, you may wish to consider getting pre-packed lunches from your hotel if they offer them. Or, it would be easy to grab some hot food from a street vendor or casual cafe along the way.
Lots of visitors here find that the on-site snack bar is just fine for lunch. Depending on the season and time of day, you may also be able to buy some food from one of the local vendors who are typically found at this location.
Keep in mind that restrooms won't be found on-site, but you may be able to find facilities at a nearby business. You'll find the waters off-shore to be clear enough for snorkeling, so grab some equipment if you're hoping to find some interesting marine life. Families with children are often seen on Sandy Beach because the water is so shallow. However, it's also a popular spot for adults who can cool off with a drink at one of the beach or hotel bars. Weekends are especially crowded and loud.
Since Worthing Beach will be found within a tourist hotspot, you'll want to plan accordingly
Saint Lawrence Gap, Christ Church is one of the best known neighbourhoods in the country of Barbados. Sometimes just called The Gap, Saint Lawrence Gap is located on the southern coast of Barbados along the island's Highway 7. Found between Oistins to the east and Worthings to the west, Saint Lawrence Gap features a 1.5k kilometer stretch of bars, hotels, dance clubs, restaurants, inns, resorts, and shops along a white powdery-sand beachfront. It is situated roughly 5 km southeast of the capital city Bridgetown. The area was upgraded in recent years as part of the government's Urban Renewal and Development programme. Upgrades included a new boardwalk, street lighting, road paving and re-development of the Dover Beach area. The area has one small church: St. Lawrence by the Sea. There are larger hotels to the eastern end of the neighbourhood, including a Sandals resort and other large hotels such as the Divi Southwinds and Turtle Beach, while the bars and restaurants are to a heavier concentration to the area's western end. There is a small minimarket in the centre of St. Lawrence Gap and one to its eastern end. Scotiabank have a branch in the centre of the resort.
Oistins Fish Fry
You can bet you won’t be on the island very long before someone recommends the infamous Oistins Friday night Fish Fry. It’s a ‘must visit‘ during your stay in Barbados.
Oistins is a historic town located in the parish of Christ Church, on the south coast of Barbados. This quaint little village saw the battle between the Royalists and the Roundheads resulting in the Charter of Barbados (Treaty of Oistins) being drawn up on 11th of January 1652 and then signed between locals and The Crown. From this came the establishment of the Barbadian Parliament – the third oldest in the Commonwealth.
Today, Oistins remains a bustling fishing town, with the Oistins fish market open seven days a week and selling the freshest catch of the day. It is also where the annual Oistins Fish Festival is held and is home to the beautiful Oistins Beach.
The town has a unique charm and is locally renowned as a lively Friday night hotspot.
From around 6 pm onwards, locals and visitors alike come together in Oistins to enjoy some of the freshly cooked fish, sample the local rum and enjoy the party vibes and music. There are shacks lined up next to the fish market selling newly grilled fish, salad, and the traditional Bajan dish of macaroni pie, amongst other things.
Oistins is a no-frills experience, but one bound to leave a lasting impression – seating is on picnic benches dotted around the car park, entertainment is free, and the food is cheap – around BBD 25 per plate.

Barbados Beaches tour 2013 of the best beaches in Barbados
Review of the best beaches in Barbados Here is a video that I made over several day showing some of the best beaches in Barbados. If you look at the map of Barbados beaches, you will find that I covered most of them. The video starts off on the boardwalk near Accra beach and continues to the last shot of foul bay. One of Barbados best beaches is one of the Barbados beaches near Bridgetown called Brown's beach. It is very popular with the cruise ship crowd as it is not far from the cruise terminal in Carlisle bay.
After going around Bridgetown the first beach I found was Brighton beach then off to Payne's bay on the west coast. Sandy Lane beach is hard to get to because the resort uses a guard station. Holetown beach was next followed by Mullins Bay beach which is associated with the Royal Westmoreland resort is very slim and crowded with hardly any place to park. Here is a link to the Mullins web cam.
Up the coast towards Lucy you will find the Speightstown beach and of course the beaches of Port St. Charles. One of their beaches is very private while the other can be accessed via the public access between the now closed Almond Beach Village.
If you are looking for a secluded pristine beach hurry up!
The south coast is by far my favorite place for beaches. The waves are bigger and well more fun. The boardwalk takes you from the beach in front of Coconut Court and the luxury Palm Beach condos all the way to Accra Beach. Accra Beach ( here is another of my videos ), is my favorite where you will find me for 2 weeks every year under the tree near the food and beverage huts. Also know as Rockley Beach, this spot keeps the lifeguards very busy as the undertow can be impressive.
The next beach going south is the famous Sandy Beach where you will find Carib Beach Bar beside Crystal Waters. You can go out pretty far there before the water reaches your waist. Every Sunday there is a beach party with live music and plenty of people drinking a lot of beer and spirits. It is wild.
The next beach I filmed was Dover Beach. Located in St Lawrence gap, this beach is very popular with a great spot at the Southern Palms hotel. At this hotel is there with a great restaurant, Colors where you can listen to steel pan music on Sunday's. Nice view of the beach from this open air restaurant. Beside that is the all inclusive Barbados Beach Club. At the end of the gap is Turtle Beach which you can access via Maxwell coast road. The Bougainvillea resort is on the same beach and sandwiched in between is the luxury condo Ocean's One. Public access is between Oceans and Turtle beach resort.
Off to Oistin's I went to visit the fish market there. There a beach there but I never see people in the water. Further along Miami Beach just south of Oistins is a very popular beach with the Little Arches Hotel and restaurant close by. I have personally seen the transformation of this formerly know as Enterprise beach from a little used almost private place to a bustling place with hardly a parking space to be found. 15 years ago we used to be able to park under the trees. There has for the longest time a food truck there Mr Delicious that serves everything from fish cakes to rum punch and fish cutters. The truck is still there however there is no more parking under the trees. Great beach!
Bathsheba was my next stop. Located on the rocky and breezy east coast this is a very popular stop for tour buses. The views are spectacular as you wind your way down from narrow mountain roads. The eroded rocks being pounded by the waves stand like statues in the surf. From there we headed to Bath Beach and Martins bay. You will see in the video some great footage. Crane beach is a little bit of a challenge to get to. You either have to pay to get into the Crane resort ( which is redeemable for lunch) or risk it parking down a very very narrow lane and walking over 50 feet of rock to get to the beach. Thank goodness that someone has built and created concrete walking pads over the coral rocks.

Barbados Beach Bars | Accra Beach Oasis Bar Rum Punch Instructions
On the south coast of Barbados you will find Accra Beach or (Rockley beach). Between the car park and the sandy beach you will find 6 beach bar huts. They have been there for about the last 15 year serving beverages as well as food.
At the Oasis bar you will find Joan the owner mixing her famous rum punch. This drink is very strong so you've got to drink it slowly. As you can see in this video she is instructing a first-timer on how to be careful. You certainly get your money's worth with this rum punch at this beach bar.
