The Zeiss Planetarium Bochum is a planetarium in Bochum , North Rhine-Westphalia . It was opened in 1964 and heard since that time the most modern facilities of its kind worldwide. Under the dome with a diameter of 20 meters have about 260 people. A central projector beams an image of the night sky beneath the domed roof so that a realistic sky impression for the viewer. Around the projection room there is a circular corridor housing permanent and temporary exhibitions.
On 4 May 2010, the planetarium was reopened after a 4-month renovation phase. After conversion, it was the world's first planetarium with a Velvet FullDome projection. For the first time the music was completely produces extra (Sounth, Tim Henry) and in some cases even with the Babelsberg Film Orchestra recorded.

Places to see in ( Stuttgart - Germany )
Stuttgart, capital of southwest Germany’s Baden-Württemberg state, is known as a manufacturing hub. Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have headquarters and museums here. The city is filled with greenspaces, which wrap around its center. Popular parks include the Schlossgarten, Rosensteinpark and Killesbergpark. Wilhelma, one of the largest zoos and botanical gardens in Europe, is just northeast of Rosenstein Castle.
Ask many Germans their opinion of Stuttgarters and they'll have plenty of things to say: they are road hogs, speeding along the autobahn; they are sharp-dressed executives with a Swabian drawl; they are tight-fisted homebodies who slave away to schaffe, schaffe, Häusle baue (work, work, build a house).
So much for the stereotypes: the real Stuttgart is less superficial than legend would have it. True, some good-living locals like their cars fast and their restaurants fancy, but most are just as happy getting their boots dirty in the surrounding vine-clad hills and hanging out with friends in the rustic confines of a Weinstube (wine tavern) or a chestnut tree-shaded Biergarten. In this, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, city slickers and down-to-earth country kids walk hand in hand, with no need to compromise.
Stuttgart, capital of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, is famous as a centre of the automotive industry, a business location and a city of trade fairs, congresses and culture. In addition, it's no less popular as a destination for day excursions, recreation and travel.

Stuttgart is the capital and largest city of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is located on the Neckar river in a fertile valley locally known as the Stuttgart Cauldron an hour from the Swabian Jura and the Black Forest. Stuttgart is also a transport junction, and possesses the sixth-largest airport in Germany. Such companies as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Daimler AG, Dinkelacker, and others are headquartered there. Stuttgart is unusual in the scheme of German cities. It is spread across a variety of hills (some of them covered in vineyards), valleys (especially around the Neckar river and the Stuttgart basin) and parks. This is often a source of surprise to visitors who associate the city with its reputation as the cradle of the automobile. The city's tourism slogan is Stuttgart offers more.
The Stuttgart area is known for its high-tech industry. Some of its most prominent companies include Daimler AG, Porsche, Bosch, Celesio, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Sika – all of whom have their world or European headquarters here. Stuttgart is home to Germany's ninth biggest exhibition center, Stuttgart Trade Fair which lies on the city outskirts next to Stuttgart Airport. Hundreds of SMEs are still based in Stuttgart (often termed Mittelstand), many still in family ownership with strong ties to the automotive, electronics, engineering and high-tech industry.
Stuttgart has a light rail system known as the Stuttgart Stadtbahn. In the city center and densely built-up areas, the Stadtbahn runs underground. Stuttgart is a hub in the InterCityExpress and InterCity networks of Deutsche Bahn AG (DBAG), with through services to most other major German cities. Stuttgart is served by Stuttgart Airport (German: Flughafen Stuttgart, IATA airport code STR), an international airport approximately 13 km (8 mi) south of the city centre on land belonging mainly to neighboring towns. Stuttgart has an inland port in Hedelfingen on the Neckar. Stuttgart is served by Autobahn A8, that runs east-west from Karlsruhe to Munich, and Autobahn A81 that runs north-south from Würzburg to Singen. The Autobahn A831 is a short spur entering the southern side of Stuttgart.

Zeiss planetarium Modell 1
Our team has the Zeiss Planetarium Modell 1 1923-1924 Technically working. In the weekend of 2. to 4. November 2018 the Planetarium will be on display for the first time after more than 40 years in Billerbeck (Germany) during our 3rd historical telescope exhibition.
The projector for the moon is removed for maintenance, so we can see now clearly the lunar period (about 29.5 days - its synodic period) and the 19-year lunar cycle known as the Metonic cycle.
The Antikythera mechanism (70 BC) was the first planetarium that used Metonic cycle. The Zeiss Modell 1 was the first optical planetarium in which the metonic cycle could be made visible!

Hintergrundinformation / background information
Was ist Stuttgart 21 ?
-----------------------------
-----------------------------------
What is Stuttgart 21?
-----------------------------
Stuttgart 21 (or short S21) is a railway and urban development project in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a part of the Stuttgart-Augsburg new and upgraded railway and the Magistrale for Europe (Paris—Vienna) in the framework of the Trans-European Networks.
Its core is a renewed Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof, amongst some 57 km new railways, including some 30 km tunnels and 25 km of high-speed lines.
The new tracks are planned to cross below ground at right angles to the northern end of the existing building. Parts of the historic Paul Bonatz Hauptbahnhof building, the platforms and approach tracks would be demolished, and the land sold for development.
Which works are currently in progress?
----------------------------------------------------
Arround Stuttgart Mainstation excavation of the first pits are in progress. Between the moved platforms and the Paul Bonatz Hauptbahnhof building the main logistics route will pass through the pit to connect the construction sites in the Mittlere Schlossgarten with the central logistics area .
The tunnel-driving work for all tunnels in Stuttgart has been started.
Also tunnels of the subway were currently relocated because they are barring the way for the new station.
