Battle of the Brewery - CUB Rally Abbotsford, July 21
The CUB55 and hundreds of supporters protested outside the Carlton & United Brewery in Abbotsford today. The C.U.B. workers were unfairly sacked and offered their jobs back at 65% less pay almost 6 weeks ago.
We need your help to increase the pressure on the company to reinstate these workers on full pay and conditions. You can help by:
1. Sending the company a message demanding the immediate reinstatement of the workers here:
2. Signing the petition calling on SABMiller boss Ari Mervis to intervene and reinstate the workers here:
3. Boycotting C.U.B. products until the workers are reinstated. You can find a list of their brands here:

Für's Bierbrauen sind ja eher wir Deutschen weltbekannt. Das ich dennoch einen wahnsinnig tollen Tag hatte, lag zum Einen an den Menschen und zum Anderen daran, dass man an Bier und Burgern nicht viel verkehrt machen kann.

Knowledge Sharing Video - Carlton & United Brewers
Produced by Moonshine Agency for Carlton & United Brewers
Moonshine Agency was commissioned to provide corporate video services for Carlton & United Brewers (CUB). A series of corporate videos were created as part of its global 'Pride In Our Beer' initiative involving all of SAB Miller's 100+ breweries worldwide. The series is designed to share knowledge amongst the far-reaching branches of the corporation.
BEST PRACTICE KNOWLEDGE SHARING VIDEO
This short film titled Yatala Water Story tells the story of innovative approaches to green water conservation technologies. These approaches have generated major water and cost savings at the Queensland brewery.
The film was created over the course of one month in close collaboration with the client and key stakeholders. Filming took place on location in Yatala, Southern Queensland. Post-production was completed in Longford, Tasmania.
SHARING BEST PRACTICES THROUGH THE INTRANET
This knowledge was disseminated through SAB Miller's global intranet. As a result, breweries worldwide have learnt from the example set in Queensland. A competition was run internally throughout the multinational's various regions celebrating best practice videos from around the world. This video from was highly commended by SAB Miller's staff.
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
It was a pleasure to work with the team at Moonshine, who helped translate our ideas into beautiful, scope appropriate footage. They were accommodating and professional but most of all customer focused and friendly. We really felt like a team in the production process. I would definitely recommend using Moonshine Agency again.

Workers slam Illegitimate CUB work agreement
Unionists gather in Melbourne's CBD to protest changes to working agreements at Carlton United Brewery's Abbotsford plant.

CUB - Chris' story
55 highly skilled maintenance workers have been sacked from Carlton and United Breweries (CUB) and offered their jobs back with just 65% of their pay. In this video Chris Bowden talks about the impact on the workers and their families and their determination to stand firm in the face of corporate thuggery.
The workers have established a community protest outside the brewery in Southampton Crescent, Abbotsford where they intend to remain until they get their jobs back.

United Voice message of support for US brewery workers
This message of support is from Dominic Fountain, a proud United Voice delegate to workers at MillerCoors Shenandoah Brewery in Virginia, US. Dominic is a delegate at SABMiller's Carlton & United Breweries Abbotsford Brewery in Melbourne Australia.
As Dominic explains, union members at our Abbotsford brewery have an incredibly proud 104 year history, having stuck together to win some of the best working conditions in the manufacturing sector anywhere in Australia.
What is this dispute about?
On September 27-28, 2012 workers at the MillerCoors Shenandoah Brewery voted on union representation with the Teamsters. In a context of management intimidation and disinformation about 350 Shenandoah workers voted and the union fell short by a 12 vote margin. The Teamsters filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board over management's illegal anti-union behavior.
MillerCoors and the Teamsters have agreed to rerun the election on October 17-18, 2013. Management has agreed to stop their threats and lies to the workers.
MillerCoors Brewing Co - Shenandoah Facility is a Mega Brewery located in Elkton, Virginia. The facility opened in 1987 to package and distribute Coors products. Following a $300 million build-out completed in 2007, the brewery's 500 employees can brew 7 million barrels of beer every year. Shenandoah is one of only two major breweries in the USA without union representation.
MillerCoors (millercoors.com )is a joint venture in the United States between SABMiller (sabmiller.com) and MolsonCoors (molsoncoors.com).
