Carmichael Estate, Pond cottage, Honeymoon destroyed!!! PLZ SHARE .....THX
Hi my name is Mr McMahon, I married my wife on Thursday 08 February 2018, I booked our honeymoon at Pond Cottage Carmichael Estate, as my wife and I often go walking and do a lot of photography there, plus we both love the place and I thought this to be ideal to spend the first few days of our married life together, how wrong were we!!! At night we heard very strange noises, didn’t know what, thought it was wildlife from outside, so didn’t really bother at first, we soon realised the noises were actually coming from inside the cottage and soon seen evidence of this, bread ripped and pieces left on worktops, chocolate bars on the floor, we set up a webcam to see if we could find out what was doing this, after doing this we both went back to the bedroom area and waited, all was quiet for a bit then the noises started again, they were coming from inside the walls, I have audio proof of the noises, still not knowing what was causing this we packed our stuff up and left returning back home. I checked the webcam footage on the laptop, to find the culprit being a rat or rats. We returned to Carmichael estate the following morning, Friday 09 February 2018, to inform them of what had happened the night before, the shop assistant contacted the offices and explained to them, we also showed the shop assistant the video footage and let her hear the audio she confirmed via telephone it was a rat, we were told if we would like another accommodation but we refused, and we were offered our money back, we were given a £10 meat voucher for their shop, and the shop assistant was full of apologies, no one from Carmichael Estate actually came to deal with this and speak to us directly at the time, we were on the estate, everything was dealt with by their shop assistant, which we find unacceptable, all we were told was to put the evidence and send it via email to the owner, Mr Richard Carmichael, we asked the shop assistant if we could return to pond cottage to make sure we had taken all our belongings as we left in such a hurry and also asked if she would accompany us, she said we could return, but declined our invitation to come along with us. When we returned to the cottage, the bread we left was all over the worktop and dragged half the way over to where the fridge was situated, there was also blood splattered on wall beside the fridge and also on the side of the fridge, we are thinking the rat injured itself in some way or there was more and they were fighting, there was the rats bloody footprints on the bread and worktop, we have video evidence of it and sent this via email to the owner of Carmichael Estate , who is Mr Richard Carmichael, his reply to us was disgraceful and not what we expected to hear at all, I will type out his reply..........
“George.... thanks for your stay in our cottage and your 4 years of walking in my Estate! Amazing that someone had set up your wedding surprise experience in this way in our cottage! Good luck with your married life and please please do not come back to my farm.. Regards Richard Carmichael Owner of Pond cottage”.
We find this absolutely disgusting, that he and his company has spoiled what should have been the happiest day and weekend of our life, no apologies, nothing and then to be told that we set this up, is an absolute disgrace, we hope no one else has to experience and go through what we did, it is completely unacceptable in this day and age, please share this, stuff like this needs to stop, thanks!
