The Donning of the Caps by Carolina Rediviva
The Donning of the Caps takes place in front of the University Library, Carolina Rediviva. At exactly 3 o'clock in the afternoon the Vice-Chancellor waves her white cap from the library balcony, a signal for everyone to don their white student caps and run down the hill toward town. The effect has often been described as 'a whole hillside of white anemones'. Balloons ascend to the sky and the thousands upon thousands of reveling students, alumni, families, and friends begin to cheer. In the early 20th century it was simply a matter of everyone putting on their student cap for the first time after the winter when they went out in the morning on April 30, but it became customary to gather at the bottom of the hill and don the cap at 3 pm. Over the years this crowd started further and further up the hill toward the library. In the 1950s then Vice-Chancellor Torgny Segerstedt came up with the idea of raising his cap as a signal, and the present tradition was established.

This melody is dedicated a central spot in my hometown Uppsala (Sweden). The Carolina slope runs from the university library Carolina Rediviva and all the way downtown.
It has been a meeting place for students, kids playing and going downhill-skiing in the winter. A little 'wooded' area separates Carolina backen from the town's majestic castle, and the summertime's green lawns invites families to picnics and other sorts of rendezvous'.
So, why not write and dedicate it a lil tune, I thought :)

Under våren 2011 beslutade Unesco att Silverbibeln skulle bli ett världsminne. The World Tipitaka : from University to Monastery 2003
The World Tipitaka Project in Roman-script.
The World Tipitaka Projcet was initiated in Bangkok, Thailand, by the Dhamma Society Fund in 1999. It was a meritorious response to a request from abroad to support the first printing of the Roman-script Pali Tipitaka from the Buddhist Era 2500 Great International Council which was convened by 2500 Theravada Buddhist monks between 1954-1956 in Yangon, Burma.
The project was completed its the 40-volume publication in 2005. This Roman-script edition is thus the world's first Pali Tipitaka from the Great International Council in B.E.2500 (1956). The inauguration of the World Tipitaka Presentation was organised in Colombo, Sri Lanka and later in Bangkok, Thailand and Uppsala, Sweden.
Library Carolina Rediviva of Uppsala University where the King of Siam edition was presented to as a royal gift by King Chulalomklao of Siam over a century ago received, in 2005, an inaugural edition from the King's grand-daughter, HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana of Thailand. Uppsala University is thus the first learning institute in the West to have received the royal gift of Tipitaka.
One of the inaugural editions was also presented to the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand in Bangkok and has been preserved as an authoritative reference for the nation.
The World Tipitaka Project is voluntarily organised and supported by Tipitaka patrons worldwide in order to preserve the Pali Tipitaka --a Wisdom Heritage of Humanity-- in its supreme purity for the future generation.
This documentary shows a unique historical tootage dedication by the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand. It also includes a report from an electronic team in pre-title.
