Persian carpet is regarded as one of the most outstanding Iranian handicraft. It is famous for its diverse colorful patterns. The number of colors in a carpet ranges from 15 to 25 and each color signifies a special meaning.
The museum exhibits a variety of Persian carpets from the four corners of Iran. The patterns feature natural elements such as flowers, birds and animals or ancient motifs passed down through generations.

Iran Carpet Museum
The Iran Carpet Museum is housed in a fine building located in the Northwest corner of Laleh Park in central Tehran. The exterior facade of the building is very beautiful, with an unusual architecture in the shape of a carpet weaving device.

A Persian Carpet for $100,000?! (Isfahan, Iran)
Did you know that IRAN is the world's largest producer and exporter of CARPETS, producing 3/4ths of the world's total output?!
And frankly, you cannot visit Iran without being completely immersed in the carpet scene. They are decorating almost every floor in all mosques, palaces, museums, hotels, restaurants, households and any other notable buldings. The come in all kinds of textures, designs, colors and styles -- and they add such a unique flavor to Iranian culture. I am really enjoying it!
Today, I had the pleasure of visiting one of the most well known carpet shops in Isfahan, Iran -- and little did I know how EXPENSIVE they can be! Well, not all of them (some are $70USD...) but I found one today that is worth $100,000 USD!! Can you believe that? One carpet for the price of a nice house in Iran!
Join me as I take you deeper inside the world of Persian rugs, and stay tuned for more to come from this amazing G Adventures trip of a lifetime :)

Traveling Iran Walking In Mashhad City Streets & Shops Middle East 2019
Traveling Iran Walking In Mashhad City Streets & Shops Middle East 2019. I am traveling in Iran, walking in the Mashhad city's streets, Bazar, Markets, and shops. Mashhad is located in the northeast part of the country in Khorasan province. Mashhad city is a holy city of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is the second-largest city with over 3 Million population and capital of Khorasan-e Razavi Province. There are many modes of transports as Car, Taxi, Public Buses, Trains and by Air. It’s centered on the vast Holy Shrine of Imam Reza, with golden domes and minarets that are floodlit at night. The circular complex also contains the tomb of Lebanese scholar Sheikh Bahai, plus the 15th-century, tile-fronted Goharshad Mosque, with a turquoise dome. Museums within the shrine include the Carpet Museum, with many rare pieces. Mashhad means is the place of Martyrdom. By the end of the third Hijri century, a dome was built on the grave of Imam Reza and many buildings and bazaars sprang around the holy shrine. In 383 A.H. 993 A.D. Sebuktigin, the Ghaznavid sultan devastated Mashhad and stopped the pilgrims from visiting the holy shrine of Imam Reza. Tourists from the different parts of the world and Shia pilgrims, zawar, ziarin visit this holy city every year in large numbers and also travel other cities of Iran. Travel by bus to Iran is very cheap. fare price is low in Iran by rail, buses, taxes and by air. Oil prices are very low too. Diesel and petrol price is around 6 to 10 cent per liter.
