US Highway 98 near Carrabelle Beach, FL was having the shoulder eroded by the large waves of Tropical Storm Nestor.

In addition to the impacts to he highway, several businesses and at least one vehicle became inundated with flood water.

Road Trip Packing list for renting a beach house in Florida. My family recently visited Carrabelle, Florida to rent a beach house. It was awesome and a fun experience full of adventure, kayaking, fishing, swimming, an airboat ride to see real gators. We had fun in the fun and I would definitely go back. We loved the calm ocean with low waves experience of the sea in this location and we had a lot of fun with the tide going down each morning which created sandbars everywhere. We arrived at the Ho Hum RV Park along the Gulf Coast of the Florida Panhandle. We're finally getting the weather we have hoped for the past 2 weeks.

Final thoughts after spending 5 days: This is a great park, the road noise is very low, and waking up to walks along the beach is great. Everyone is friendly and the park is well maintained. The only issue is internet service which is abysmal... Flakey as hell, and many times you can't even open a web page. Otherwise we had a great time..

Carrabelle Beach Winter Adventure 2015

This is the first video in a series of videos to follow chronicling our adventures in Florida as we flee the cold of the north Georgia winter. We are at this park for a month so we have plenty of time to get set up and organize our daily outings. This depicts our first day and night settling in to our new digs. The park is clean and upscale to a degree .... the WiFi is poor, the cable TV has a very limited analog channel selection and the water pressure is low, but the people are friendly and the location is great as a base for exploring The Forgotten Coast of Florida. The park is just across Hwy 98 from a beautiful beach which allows dogs. Beautiful sunsets almost every night. Carrabelle Beach is about an hour south west of Tallahasee right on the Gulf of Mexico.

Stay tuned as additional videos will follow showing all the State Parks and places of beauty we managed to find as we traveled almost everyday in search of beauty and nature.
